I got a 3d mark 06 score of 8,942. I didnt patch so thats why it may be low. It that normal? Also my HD is normally around 53c. I heard that isnt bad at all for this computer. Should be worried?
Anyway specs are 2.53ghz c2d
4 gigs of ram
250 hd
260mgtx with updated drivers from nvidia. Thanks for all your help.

As for hdd temp, mine idles around there. -
Under 9k is low. You should be getting right around 10k with latest drivers. Run 3dmark more than once, and keep an eye on CPU activity.
-
^^^have to agree.
im getting around 9400 using 9800GT and you should be slightly higher than that with a 260m
have you checked if you are running on high performance in battery settings. -
Well i installed the 110 patch and the site now says 9440. It was like 8,394 earlier. And yeah i am in high performance mode right now. I wonder why i am so low. This site says i am at 9440. It linked me to it when it finished. THe site reads my gpu as a 170m?
-
Can you take a screen shot of your score?
170/180m is normal, it was the orginal name for the 260/280. -
Ummm yeah i hit the prt sc button right? Then what?
-
you then need to open paint. start (bottom left of screen) > all programs > accesories > and then paint. once its open click on edit and then paste. then click on red x in top right and then save. it will then save it to your picture folder.
then when you click on post reply on ths forum below the text box you can add an attachment from your picture folder. -
Here you go. Thanks i needed to know that before school incase we need screen shots of the game we are making.

this is even better and so much easier than print screen and paint. download Gadwin Print Screen its so simple to use once set up and its litteraly print screen button and one mouse click and its done.
9440 using a p8700 might be about right but best someone with the same processor clarify that.
im running a P9500 and im getting 9496 but ive got the older 9800GT instead of a 260m -
I can try on mine when i get back in a few hours.

Okay guys thanks for the help. I got work now so i will see what you say later dabunbun. I am not sure if i should be worried about my score. I realy havent modified vista and when it was running i didnt have anything turned off like indexing. Still not sure how to do that. Other than that everything seems fine. i am gonna try crysis later on tonight and see what that gets me.

10798 3DMarks is what i got. Weirdest thing, when i was running the cpu test, it only hit like 0~2 frames. That normal for other people? I ran the 3dmark06 since i'm usen xp.
I also only used the basic editition, so its on 1240x1024 with optimal filtering, and etc etc.
Going to be running it again, with the non basic edition.
So with the basic, i got around the same as the other guy:
10798 3d mark on basic, 1240x1024 resolution.
9817 3d mark , 1600x1050 resolution -
I pay little attention to 3DMark scores and more attention to real in game performance. I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about this. As you mentioned, try out Crysis.
-
Yeah i am installing the Maximum edition now. Will update when i have played it. Soo excited. So i was able to play Crysis on High settings. Some popins here and there. I had all setting on high with my max resolution. I also had AAx2 enabled but when switched off some popins occured. like aybe some twigs on the beach and some fliage roma distance. Other then that it looked good. Not any slow downs i think.

While it is true, gameplay > 3dmark, its also true that if 3dmark is too low, there could be problems with the system.
-
And is my 3D mark score too low?

FIXED IT. Okay what i did earlier was i changed a setting in the nvidia control panel. I wanted it to be more precise instead of letting the program choose. I switched it back and i almost hit 10k. Damn i am happy.

Nice! Happy computing!

What didya change?
-
It was in te nvidia control panel. I switched a setting to allow the graphics card to be more precise like what the quadros do. That was earlier. I switched it to allow the 3d program decide. That was the setting it was on originally. Turned out it worked.
