I was just wondering what is the screen quality on this notebook like.

    -How are the viewing angles?
    -How is the brightness?
-Is there any light leakage problems?
-And finally, is the screen prone to dead pixels?

I also want to know about the quality of the Sager chassis, is it the cheap feeling plastic, or is it built strongly?

    Thanks in advance!!

Thanks for the review! But I'm still wondering about the viewing angles, brightness and the quality of the chassis. Thanks!

all are great. viewing is readable from nearly any angle you can actually see the screen at. it has about 3-4 brightness settings, all are great. the build quality is very high... i carry mine around in the standard free case that came with it at least 2-3 times a week, and it hasn't gotten a dent or scratch or anything.
also, mine had no dead pixels, and no light leakage that I can detect.

    I concur.
    This screen is gorgeous!
No dead pixels on mine either. And the lighting is uniform with no leakage.
What i did find mildly amusing is that the light from the screen bulb actually glows through the plastic on the back of the lid. Down at the bottom, near the hinge. I thought it was kind of cool, actually. :p

Alienware has the same notebook models as Sager, VooDoo PC, and other OEMs.

Alienware and VooDoo PC just rebadges the same notebooks with a different casing and a new paint job.... which is usually a $500-1000 premium at times.

Viewing angles, you can read it almost until you cant see the screen anymore. Although as you turn, colors change tint and it gets darker until you're at a 90 degree angle.

The brightness is astounding. I keep it on full brightness, and it blows other LCDs out of the water. I use it at work and they have matte LCDs there. Oh my god, it's like night and day. The panel may hurt your eyes tho, it's so bright, but you can turn it down if you want. =D

Some have complained of light leakage, but that happens with some LCDs, return it and get a new one.

I did not get any pix on my computer. Tho it's guts did die within the first week, I was glad the screen was still perfect, and had them swap it over to the new one. ^^ Most of us seem to get pristine screens. But like any LCDs, there will be some that have problems, but since Sager has the best dead pix policy, you're in good hands.

The case feels top quality! I can tell cheep plastic a mile away, it's dense, dosnt give or twist and has great texture. The one problem I can see is that i type with my wrists resting on the panels in front of the keyboard. I play lots of FPS games, and started noticing the first signs of the paint starting to dull (and maybe rub off in the future) so I put a protective coating of plastic on the left panel in front of the keyboard (clear packing tape XD). It looks good!

I've had one a couple months now, and I'm still impressed by it.
