I was wondering about these guys, I have a desktop with a CPU that I could put into a 7280 if I bought one, and that would save me some money for now.
I heard RJTech actually just gets parts from Eurocom, is that correct? I consider anything from Eurocom, associated with Eurocom, or imported by them to be suspect. From the nightmare stories going around here about how someone's machine showed up with missing screws, or parts not being correctly snapped into place, and also just getting incorrect parts in general.
Can anyone confirm if RJTech actually gets their barebone units from Eurocom, or do they actually import the units from Clevo themselves? Thanks guys.

I'm not sure where RJTech gets their barebones, however, I know that there are other stores that sell Clevo barebones which aren't purchased from Eurocom - so, don't think that's your only option.
-
No matter where they buy them from. The most important thing is with who you deal when something is wrong and who is packing them. Clevo only sells in large volumes, but importing from Eurocom might mean that they only forward the goods without touching them at all

I think they are the only reseller that offers warranty on a barebone. Correct me if I'm wrong.

According to R&J's website, the warrenty repair is outsource to Warrantech RepairMaster which does not appear to have good reviews when you Google search the company.
-
To clarify your statement the EXTENDED warranty is covered by Repairmaster.
The initial 1 year is covered by RJTech. -
just bought the x7200 dual power box from rjtech for $50
by the way in china it cost about $125.....though both made in china.....= =||| -
I bought a barebones machine from them, all is well. But let me tell you this, just pray you don't have a problem with your machine, because it's hell to try and send it and wait for repairs.
-
That is why I don't want to buy from them, even though I thought it would be fun to buy and build a barebones machine.
-
I think RJTECH buys there barebones from sager last year when I bought a barebones from them the box had the sager name in the specs sticker.

You have horror stories? Please share them, for our sake.
-
Do you like only horror stories? Good stories are boring?
-
The OP is looking for user experiences. If RJ's RMA service is a nightmare, it's important to get that information out there.
-
Of course, though even on ebay there are sellers with thousands of good reviews (over 90%) still have bad ones. So the horror story should be put compared as well with all good stories.

My friend's laptop was bought from RJTech, by my referral. He has the W860CU (5870 + USB3), one of the lucky ones before they switched to 460M. I made him do that since he is not that good with computers @ that time. I figured I might as well teach him about the parts by guiding him on the installation. Anyway, after 2 days the screen will just turn off but the laptop is still turned on, i figured we should reseat the 5870 just to make sure, he also learned how to paste properly because this. Anyway, I told him to contact RJTech since it was definitely the 5870 acting up. The guy that my friend talked to was convinced that it was a driver problem. Even though we haven't installed a driver since the screen turns off 5 seconds @ BIOS. After that he told us if we didn't do a windows restore from another computer, uhhh yeah that's a good idea. At that time both of us were just really pissed off at the RJTECH rep so I made a "very pleasant"
response on the guy. After that he told us to mail it back. But yeah, you'll save a lot of money but if something breaks and you know what is broken since it was really obvious, they are still gonna make/treat you like you don't know what a keyboard does in a laptop. That's how I felt after reading the emails that we got from the RJTEch rep.
