    Hey guys

I finally decided to buy some more ram for my rig, not that its runnning slow or nothing, just because i felt like it.
    Well i bought a 1600Mhz 16GB (8x2) PNY kit ( THIS ONES HERE)
I Actually took my 2x4 GB crucial (micorntech by hwinfo?) 1600 Mhz sticks out, and replaced them by the new ones.
Now, and as usual, i went off to run some benchmarks and tests..
I am now quite dazzled because my WEI score went down to 5.9 but due to my hdd transfer rate dropping form 7.6 to 5.9. I have tried everything i found in google to revert this *checked trim, ran intel tools, and what not*. With 0 results.

The other thing that worries me is that checking my system uin control panel shows installed RAM 16 GB (15.9 GBs usable). 15.9 GBs usable?!?!?! I dont recall having 7.9 GBs usable. Is this normal or indicative of some hardware error???

Checking further with hwinfo i found out that my modules show max supported memory clock of: 800 MHZ (normal), but it reports a "current memory clock" of 798.2 MHZ (8:1 ratio)
    The current timing displays: 11.0-11-11-28

Again it may seem normal, but i am not sure. Can anyone check their own values and tell me if everything is ok or i have some hardware issue here?

I cannot be sure if the SSD score dropped before or after the ram upgrade. I will try and replace the old ram and check again, will let you know when i do.

When upgrading i was very carefull not touching the connectors or memories with my fingers, i used some paper towels for handling them.,

hope you may help me here.

    cheers
    Vozier

All normal, ram allocated to igp, clocks mildly slower due to spread spectrum clocks, WEI is an unreliable mess that Microsoft has dropped.

Ok, thanks, checking back old poost from myself i had 7.9 WEI score on the disk when the laptop was new, 7.6 not long ago when the disk was almost 85% full, and now this 5.9 (not sure since when).
I reran crystaldiskmark on the disk and the scores are almost unchanged so i guess i should not worry.
If you say the ram not 100% usage is normal then i guess i wont worry about it too.
I copy here the two crystaldiskmark 3.01 scores ran, maybe you can check if they are normal:

yeah, I actually bought two 16 gbs kits, was planning to sell the other, 32 Gbs is a bit too much for todays needs, aint it? I will also sell the 8 gbs i took off, down here in Chile rams are far more expensive, so i expect coming out free upgraded or even positive.

16 gigs with 2 slots free in case something comes along seems like a sensible place to be right now.
