This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     RAMDisk application suggestions?

    Been toying around with mounting virtual drives within the RAM and in some cases, I really like it. Been using SoftPerfect RAMDisk to do this but there's a quirk in the software in that a disk needs to be either mounted on boot or mounted on login, can't save settings and mount them when you need them.

    What's out there as far as software goes?

    I used to use it for web browser cache, but after some time I left of using it.
    You can enable an option so that datas are saved to hdd when you shut down the computer, but it make the shut down slower, so that it isn“t very useful.
    In short, in my opinion is a good idea but not too much useful.

    i think the OP was rather looking for tools with which to make RAMDisk, not potential uses of a RAMDisk or whether or not they make sense :)
