    Clevo Mod Installation:

Run DDU (latest version) to uninstall previous version. Select “Audio” -> Realtek -> uninstall without rebooting, and then set “Creative” option, finally reboot.

You must disable both driver signing and any anti-virus software before installing driver mods.

Copy Realtek…exe to the desktop and then right click “run as administrator”

When prompted (4x) select “Install driver software anyway”

Exit realtek Installer without rebooting to complete RTK Audio console and SBC installation.

After rebooting, disable and re-enable “Jack detection when device is plugged in” (Realtek Audio Console advanced settings).
    Disable Power management

    I'll be testing this.

I'll record the differences with my podcast mic instead of my phone mic to give people the best idea.

    Will it work on a W650KK/KJ1 ?
I tried installing the latest driver provided on the official download page but audio output was not working even if the driver was correctly installed and recognized
What's the point of this mod?

I hope the point is to improve audio quality, I'm about to work on it, review with podcast mic recordings will be up today I think.

    Also it should be, yes.

    Danishblunt review of the mod:
So I downloaded the mod and installed everything according to the guide. I could notice that I got a new funny dolby tab open and saw that the driver date was as on the picture in the OP. I turned my notebook on and noticed that the sound was really weird. Very unbalanced and there seems to be a slight emphasis on the subwoofer. I proceeded to download the Equalizer APO and set everything up as good as I could. The sound was improved by quite a bit. I only spend around 30-40minutes on fiddling with APO so I think people can get better results in the end. So how was it?

    Stock vs Modded
How was the testing was performed:
I took a youtube video with a cover song from one of my favorite animes of all time and recorded it due to copyright issues. I took a podcast microphone and put it on all 3 tests exacly 30cm on the exact same position on the table with the notebook to ensure you also get the idea of the volume. I set all volumes to 100% and started recording, the reason for this was because all 3 tests had a different max volume.

    Here is the result:

    Observation:
The stock driver was louder than the modded + APO, but the speakers were less tinny and much less ear damaging. I swear P375SM-A speakers on max volume actually give you a headache. The mod gives a more full tone, although still not really perfect. Also I noticed that the sound was a little bit unbalanced, maybe i messed up a bit on the settings in APO, but the bass on the subwoofer was a bit to much compared to the normal singing, it "popped" a bit to much to my taste compared to the rest of the sound. The mod + EQ is still no masterpiece and still far from perfection (hence i included a version from my custom drivers) but in the right step. Maybe someone can build more on this.

    Conclusion:

The customizability of the mod allows users to fix some issues, despite not being perfect imo it beats stock drivers + SB by quite a bit and people should give it a shot.

    @slimmolG
You might want to try this mod!

    @aIex
So the EQ was better than expected! You were right, it did actually do better than I thought.

I feel like it hasn't improved sound quality that much over stock + my Equalizer APO settings, but has crippled the sound when listening on headphones.

My video basicially showcased that as well. It's still an improvement, however the headphone part is important.

    Unlocked DHT, DDL & DTS.
    Signed RltkAPO64.dll.
    Silent Installer.
Please post HWIDs, OP "supported models".

Sounds like you've enabled DHT, try unchecking DHT. It works pretty well w/ P870DM2/3, unlike my P870DM.

    Please post HWIDs
    Stock and modded driver versions?

    Hi,

    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0269&SUBSYS_1558651A&REV_1002
    Audio Codec ALC269

Drivers 6.0.1.8295 (downloaded here http://www.clevo.com/en/e-services/download/ftpOut.asp?Lmodel=W65xKK1/W65xKJ1&ltype=9&submit=+GO+) don't give any audio output. Device doesn't report any error in device manager and sound control is present in the taskbar but Windows is not able to produce any sound. Tried most recent generic drivers (through station-drivers) and they don't work either. I've uninstalled Sound Blaster Cinema 3, maybe it causes some kind of conflict.

I don't see my HWID in your list though.

Yep, your model is not listed. Both 8393 and 8295. The latter version is probably installing a generic INF instead of OEM...

Device manager -> Realtek HDA properties -> Details -> scroll down "Device installed (xxxx.inf)"?

Stock is simply the metabox audio driver + SB.
Modded is your modded driver + the EQ u used with my ID which is:

    On my P375SM-A.

I don't use your mod anymore, so I can't post the listed infs anymore.

My mod is a custom mod, there is no download link as of now. It's based on the Realtek 6.0.1.8172 driver version. As you already have gathered my drivers are pushing the speakers and the amp to the limit, the max volume is significantly louder and overall the entire speaker + sub are getting more power.

This mod can easily break amps and speakers if used on devices that aren't similair to mine. Hence I'm not really planning on releasing it to begin with, I don't see any reason for people to break their stuff and be mad at me. It would also sound like crap on other devices as well, since some notebooks handle certain frequencies better than others, if at all.

When I find some time, I'll probably do a light version of it, which should improve the sound significally without breaking anything, it won't be as loud or as balanced, but it will be an improvement.

And I just told you that I don't have your mod anymore. So there is no .inf mod to be had.

Yeah no problem, ignore me if it makes you feel any better.

Stop spamming me then for unreasonable requests. I won't install your mod again since it's pretty meh, I don't know why you want the modded .inf. You have my hardware ID so you can add it in your own for crying out loud.

Anything not originating from him is always garbage and proprietary in nature that isn't shared with the community.

He also stated that he got 50c @4GHZ on a haswell cpu but failed to mention the ambient Temps.

I wonder if this will work with the p157sm-a? I sold it to my brother and he's always been yapping at me about modding the speakers lol

I'll link him here to try this out, thank you for sharing j95

Last think I want to do is work on his laptop because he hacked up some speaker mod, he's not very bright to begin with so this may save me some headache in the future...

Oh yeah because the video literally didn't speak for itself where I literally record the sound.
Go ahead and install the mod for your bro, it works for the P157SM-A.

You can tell him modding the speakers aren't enough, he needs to mod his software as well, this mod won't do you any good since it doesn't do much.

I don't trust anything you provide given that it's always up to the community to provide context.

Last time my brother took apart a laptop he couldn't turbo past 2.0ghz without the laptop turning off. Not going to be encouraging anything that can't be reversed in 30 seconds or less.

Would the mod work in the p150sm-a?

Since day one i've complained about the speakers, even took the stock subwoofer out and went with an old qosmio unit, crazy loud and full but the vibration noise was awfull.

I'm also interested in the headphone quality/volume difference.

@j95. Could you help please? I followed everything in the readme but DTS and Dolby options still didn’t show up in Realtek HD Audio Manager like your screenshot. I have the P775TM but notice the codec is ALC 898 instead of 892 like yours. Running Win 10 1803. Thanks

PS: Also the jack mapping seemed messed up somehow. I tried hooking up my Z-5500 in 5.1 Analog 6 channel mode but no sound on rear speakers despite jack plugging popup showed correct mapping. Sound test for rear speakers came out of front L R speakers instead . However when playing music in Foobar using WASAPI event sound came out through 6 channels correctly.

Did you install the WHQL option? P870xMx is for previous models with Prema mod like P870DM/8700K support.

You must reboot before copying RltkAPO64.dll' to "C:\Windows\System32"

Device manager -> Realtek High Definition Audio -> Events -> scroll down and post a screenshot of the latest event "...inf installed".

If you have SB connect 360 installed you should disable/stop startup processes/services under task manager and services.msc "Audio Position Service" before installing Realtek HDA drivers. Re-enable aforementioned services after rebooting and copying RltkAPO64.dll...or uninstall SBC 360 before installing drivers.

Check if the cert was properly installed by right-clicking 'RltkAPO64.dll' "...signature is OK"

Stop Audio service (cmd admin): net stop audiosrv then copy RltkAPO64.dll (RltkAPO_8485) to "C:\Windows\System32" -> reboot.

Hmm no I did not. I saw 2 download links for 2 exe files and thought WHQL is just the original unmodded driver from Realktek. I used this file: Realtek_HDA_6.0.1.8485_Clevo_P870xMx_P7xxxMx.exe

Will give another go tonight with the WHQL exe and report back. I ddin't use SB Connect 360.

Nope. Still doesn’t work with the WHQL version. Followed every step to the letter. Dll sig installed and copied fine. Device manager event for Audio driver said inf installed as the last event. No DTS or Dolby like your screenshots. They did show up in Windows Sound manager under Digital Output however no sound came out when selecting either of them. I had to switch back to 2 channel 24/96 for optical to work on the Z-5500. At least now the jack mapping worked correctly after a few restarts.

Guess the TM machines might have to wait. Just FYI I have used these modded audio drivers on the old ZM and they worked flawlessly just like your screenshots. DTS out and everything using Optical with same speakers.

It could be a weird issue I had once w/ 1803...system restore and win protective audio BS.

    Turn off system restore.
    Uninstall HDA drivers then reboot.
Device manager -> view "Show hidden devices" -> Audio inputs and outputs -> delete all grayed out ghost devices.
    Re-install 8485 WHQL.

@GMLP I still need the screenshot of the latest event (INF).

Ok tried again with System restore and ghost devices removed. Still no go. However I found out SB Connect was very likely the cause of messed up jack mapping. A clean HDA WHQL install with no trace of SBC worked but as soon as SBC was installed after that the jacks would act up. I highly suspect this driver version is not playing nice with that app on my system. Older driver I had (8445) worked with SBC fine without jack problems.

No I don’t have SBC installed at all since yesterday. Only HDA drivers and that’s it. Secure boot off. System restore off. Still no go. I didn't however disable DSE but step wasn't in the readme guide.

Also curious. What is the difference between SBC 360 and 720? My P775TM only got 360. Just downloaded the latest version that you mentioned from Creative site and it seemed to work fine with 8485 driver, no messed up jack mapping so far.

No need to disable DSE as long as the cert was properly installed (WHQL version only).
It makes no sense, all IDs are correct...unless defender is messing things up or System Guard Runtime Monitor Broker service
To disable "System Guard Runtime Monitor Broker" run NSudo -> with all privileges -> services.msc.

When I download the mod from the team page my antivirus detects a trojan - HEUR:Trojan.Win32.Generic
    It's false positive right?

difference between SBX 360 & SBX 720 is the license files stored in the \ProgramData\Creative\SoftwareLock folder - I know which ones that make Creative SB Connect software display either the SBX360 or SBX720 user interface. check that folder on your P775TM laptop and see what license files you have.

what antivirus are you using? it may be a false positive.
If using Windows Defender in Win10, run DefenderControl to disable it, then install the modded drivers & reboot. then you can re-enable Defender with DefenderControl afterwards.
