copy of an email from www.rjtech.com:
Dear Customer,
The M570RU is here, but the WSXGA Matt and Glare screen is still not
available. Only the WUXGA is available right now. The ETA of the WSXGA
(Matt
or Glare) is about one month. So we suggest you to upgrade it to WUXGA
Glare
screen, we can give you our cost $140 (our website price is $195).
Please let us know if you want to upgrade it to WUXGA or wait for the
WSXGA
Matt screen.
By the way, it does not have the fingerprint reader in July and August
shipment. It might be available in Sept. shipment.

this is quite a difference from the initial information on the website that noted "early july" as the estimated shipping date. time to cancel my order :/
-
why not go the best resolution ?
-
because i don't have another $140 to spend and some part of me is principled against rjtech profiting from exploiting the provision of misinformation on their website... but mostly because i don't have another $140 to spend
-
I agree with you. Was the delay of equipment discussed at the time of sale? Maybe you can call them and take that angle and get the upgrade for very cheap or even free. It's not your fault and if it wasn't documented that it could be delayed then you should be able to get something out of the deal, after all you are a paying customer
and can cancel your order and go with someone else...
At least talk to a supervisor about it when you call.

+1 to Wingsbr, tell them that you bought the laptop because of the features that were advertised with the laptop I.E. the fingerprint reader and the WSXGA screen or something along the lines of that, see what happens and let us know please.

i just called. the rep informed me that they are "only able to estimate ETA" and that they could not offer the upgrade for free.
he said that $140 was "cost" to them and that they wouldn't be making any money off of the computer if i decided to upgrade, but that there was no way they could offer it for free or at a cost reduced further from that.
maybe i should just return my newegg components and just buy a built system from xoticpc or powernotebooks... their built systems were roughly the same price as buying all the parts separately, anyway -

well at this point it's up to you to cancel your order or not but I personally would cancel if I was you. That is BS.
-
yeah, i already did cancel.. the problem is the processor, ram, hard drive that i already purchased and have already been delivered, i either have to find another barebones system that fits it or return it all.
oh well, just a warning to anyone considering buying a barebones from rjtech right now with WSXGA... it will be over a month -
Bulljive, call back and ask for someone higher than that. I work in IT for a living and I can guarantee that they are making some sort of profit margin somewhere or else they wouldn't be in business. They are looking at it as a part, not a whole computer. Yeah maybe the part is at cost but somewhere else there is some profit they can work with. I worked in a call center, being nice but firm is a good way to get what you want, but most service level employees cannot do much for you anyway, it has to be overridden by a manager.

I've heard good things about xoticpc. I believe they have a NBR account as well. Search the forums for xoticpc and you should get some results.

a xotic sales rep posts here quite often, he goes under the screen name [email protected]
xoticpc is a VERY GOOD reseller, I love the way they treat their customers. -
Agreed, you will hear that quite often around the NBR forums. Someone asked that very question here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=103558

I got it. order the notebook with no RAM... because its overpriced anyway.
Then go to the RAM Deals thread and get your own well-price memory.
