Good News: It is a long-overdue start!
Bad News: The driver verification tool states that "the version of my graphics adapter is not supported" and will fail the installation for me.
So I am wondering, is it working for any Clevo owners yet? I did the Win7 64-bit package, with no luck. I also have this mentioned on the Graphics Cards forum subsection as well, in a relevant thread.
Edit: Forgot to mention that it instructs me to contact my manufacturer, but nothing new is listed on the Clevo or MALIBAL sites. I have a ticket in to my builder and will hopefully hear something soon.

MALIBAL wont reply until tomorrow probably.

Seriously, this is at night, on a national holiday, and they got back to me in just over an hour. That is great customer support. Kudos to them! I will give these new drivers a shot in the morning (they are downloading now). -
where are the drivers posted?
-
Nice! I've been dying for some updates on this.
OT: Hey, Morey. Is it just you, me and Fenrir here? Lol. -
-
-
I think I will wait for some others to try out these drivers first.......I have finally got my system stable and will only be updating drivers once I know they will improve my current stability & performance.

AMD Graphics Drivers & Software â Download the latest drivers for your graphics products
that's where you can find the driver. -
I only had 15ish posts. My laptop has arrived (at my friend's) but I'm not heading down to the states until next Friday. 13 hour drive, I will drool the whole way thinking about it
-
morey let me know how they work asap!
-
At any rate, the AMD Driver Detection Tool saw the card and finds the recommended Radeon HD 7xxxM driver update, and even lets you click on the download button, but it still gives me the same error as before ("the version of your graphics adapter is not supported").
So in my case, the jury is still out, and it's late so I will look at it more tomorrow evening. Hopefully others will give it a try and can report positive feedback.
Edit: Looked at my 3dMark11 scores again, and the P7026 run had an extra 100MHz on the CPU speed as opposed to the P6975, so that could account for some of the difference in scores. I thought I had the settings matched, so my bad. I still think it is great that MALIBAL got back to me so fast as well, but when I ran AMD-Z on the driver it mentioned P150EM in a few places, so maybe I got the Lotus version instead of the Satori (or maybe it doesn't matter). Anyway, it is even later now, so I am calling it for a bit. -
-
No different. Just the 12.6 WHQL and the 12.7 beta still, nothing new.
-
-
can anyone confirm that we can install the whole driver package including CCC and all that stuff, not just the display driver?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Yeah these wont download the driver package because we have switchable graphics.
-
Yeah, we have to wait for Clevo or Sager or our resellers to make the drivers compatible with our laptops :/
Either way, 12.5 that came with the laptop is still stable for me. -
This method works for me with any drivers from AMD.

No the package would install, its the downloader that refuses to work.
-
So download from external site...

Nah I'm here too. is going on with Malibal's forum?
-
Annnd I accidentally posted twice.
-
Just download these:
AMD Catalyst ⢠12.7 Beta Driver
AMD says these have all the fixes and updates from 12.6 -
OT: The forum seems to be down but they never said why only that it will be back up soon. -
so i tried installing these drivers... AHAHAHHAHA didn't work. reinstalling stock clevo drivers now
-
And yes I do have Enduro running fine, at least for me with stable overclocks on both. And yes I used the full installer for both the 12.6 WHQL and the 12.7. I did not overwrite anything. -
I spoke with a rep at Malibal about the time the forums went down, and they said they'd be back up "soon". I guess they're using a different dictionary than I am. The running conspiracy theory is that they shut the forums down in response to users getting pissed over the manufacturing order. -
Either way, these drivers don't seem to fix the GPU utilization issue, so I might just pass on these. I'll wait for the official 12.7 (not beta) drivers to come out to attempt another install. Pretty sure I did something completely wrong...
-
This works for me with any OFFICIAL drivers from AMD.
What you need:
1. Your choice of official drivers. I used the the official 12.7 beta from AMD site, not Guru3D mirror. Just because.
2. 7970M drivers from Sager/Clevo.
Uninstall your drivers:
- Personally I just use the express uninstall all for Catalyst.
- Then I go into device manager and manually uninstall the Intel driver first, check the delete driver option and then uninstall the 7970M.
Install official driver:
1. Just install official drivers normally. Throw in whatever APP you prefer, I like Hydravision. Throw that in there. Install however you do it, I do custom without all that AVIVO/Transcoding crud since x264 kicks GPGPU encoding any day.
2. Don't restart after CCC setup is finished.
3. Go to Device Manager. You will see the HD7970M with exclamation point on it. Leave it. Click properties and update drivers on what should be your HD4000.
4. Browse to where you unzipped the HD7970M Clevo driver and choose the INF from the driver folder, should be something like Packages/Drivers/Display/W76A_INF/C7***.inf
5. Choose that INF, the HD4000 signed driver should show up in the dialogue box and install.
6. Restart.
Voila, done. I've tried this method with other drivers. -
is this true? those with utilization issue will have low 3dmark06 scores, can you try this?

But surely using that method you would end up with a CCC which doesn't support switchable graphics and doesn't have the switchable graphics configuration tab?
-
Yeah when I tried that method, both my display adapters under device manager screwed up and just said "generic VGA display" for both of them.
-
-
Btw, after I uninstalled stock drivers it asked me to restart, was I supposed to restart? Or restart after uninstalling both drivers? -
After restart, I run the AMD installer, as if there I did not have switchable. I don't restart after it's finished. In the device manager you should see one saying generic VGA, and the other should say 7970M with exclamation point on it. Update the drivers on the generic VGA. -
If I try to force update it to June then it'll work, briefly, then on reboot CCC reports that there is no valid driver installed and I have to start over again -
Heres my thoughts guys... check it out and tell me what you think!

No as I said before if you were running the latest CCC you would not have switchable graphics support and you would lose the required tab.
-
Wrong, have the latest CCC and I do have the switchable tab and I do have switchable graphics support.
-
What's the full version string of the CCC you are running? You were incorrect about the display driver version yet you are correct about the CCC version. Have you even checked?
The fact is the CCC packaged with 12.7 hasn't got switchable support and thus should not be used with our setups. -
I have the CCC from WHQL 12.6, which is what I initially installed with, but manually installed the 12.7 beta for 7970M in Device Manager. I have installed the 12.7 Beta CCC before.
CCC DOES have support for Switchable Graphics, it's the intel drivers that are lacking.
-
Hmmmm well that kinda blows my mind
-
Are there any new stuff with the new CCC besides HydraVision? I just want to know if it has other advantages. I would jump on it if it does.
-
So my machine started BSODing constantly and wouldn't even boot in the end so had to re-format. Damn it.
I'm gonna sit tight till Clevo release some official drivers now -
So why are you not using 12.7 CCC instead of 12.6?
The switchable graphics tab disappeared when I installed 12.7 CCC. -
I blue screened when I tried to install 12.7 CCC.
