    So,

I have two harddrives running in RAID-0, using the on-board controller of course.

I then have a 3rd harddrive that is not in raid.

I am about to replace one hard drive that is part of the RAID, and not use RAID anymore.

If I disable the RAID, does the data in the 3rd harddrive, the non-raid one, become unaccessible?

I am in the process of backing it up but... takes a while.... more than 100 gigs to copy over network.

the 3rd drive that is stand-alone (not in a RAID array) will not get affected in any way if you are replacing the RAID'ed drives.

Thats good, I was just worried about changing the controller from RAID to SATA and losing access to that data.

So just changing the controller mode, shouldn't affect anything not involved in a raid volume right? just want to make sure.

the independent drive should be fine.
