You really don't need more than 8GB of RAM, at least for only playing games and doing other everyday tasks. You can always add more RAM later after ordering/receiving the laptop if you feel you need more, just buy some online and plop it in the laptop.

Just get 4x4 gb 1600 ram, it should be more than sufficient and you will most prob be bottlenecked by the CPU before you get to utilize all the ram

I rolled HyperX PlugNPlay because I got it on sale. Since I went with the 3610QM, there is no real over clocking to it and the ram doesn't need to have its speed retarded (as in lowered, not stupid, its a term we use in timing cars) in order to get faster processor speeds. The ram is fantastic and I have loved it every time I have bought it for other people so I swung for it when I found it on sale. I went 4g 2 sticks, but I will put 2 more in there at some point.

Basically get a reliable brand at 1600 and go for 8 gigs for now. You will be more than happy.
