Hello I have been having random shut downs lately (maybe 2 weeks now). The computer just completely turns off. It usually happens 1-2x per day.

I do not have a battery installed. My battery developed a bulge last year and I have gone without it for a year now. I live in the Philippines and I find it too expensive to mail the battery back for warranty
I started getting this error:finger software application has stopped working. Error appears every 15-20 min. This error has appeared maybe 2 weeks before the random shutdowns has started
I have checked my connections and they appear OK
I have cleaned the vents with compressed air
I have checked the temp with CPUID and temps are within 50-65C for CPU and GPU. Shutdowns happen when I'm just browsing the web

    Thanks for any help.

I'd suggest checking your memory for errors with Memtest and also running check disk on your hard drive. If you have an extra power adapter, I'd also try that as well as you don't have a battery installed and a faulty adapter could cause shutdowns. Barring any of the above, it's probably a more serious hardware issue that would take a bit more troubleshooting.

It could be a faulty HDD. I experienced similar shut downs when my SDD began to die!
