on the M1730 there is a G15 mini screen and on one of the asus laptops there is a mini oled screen on there. How hard would it be to put one of those on a clevo? yes, that might mean cutting open the case... its a very stupid idea but is it possible?

theres nothing to connect it to inside the laptop, or room for it even if you somehow hacked up a g15 keyboard and had a usb cable running to a usb port outside the laptop

Not a stupid idea at all. You would have to cut the plastic, take a look at the motherboard and find a USB port on the mobo. Solder to it and you would be good to go.

I have an M1730 on my desk (as well as a G15 at home on my gaming desktop) and I can say that I don't really find much use for it - other than looking at the last 30 seconds of Frap and getting the time as it loops through.

Timsp8 - It is not as hard to find a USB header as you might think, but not in the norm to do something like this. Modders are hacking the crap out of the netbooks - because the risk of breaking a $250 machine is a little more palatable than bricking a $2500 laptop.

not really will to unless i had an extra $2000 to spend if it didnt work lol... if i did i would do it... btw, if you are wondering why i want one is the features... you can put temperatures and im's and a whole bunch of stuff on it... more helpful than alt+tab...
EDIT: is the only way to obtain a G15 keyboard screen is to buy one and take it apart right?

Sounds like something that would be more fruitfully discussed in the cosmetic modifications forum - some of the mods that I've seen discussed there might be right up the same alley as this one.

Sounds risky at best, but if it worked, it would be AWESOME!

If you can, I would enlist the help of someone who could cast small metal parts for you. You'll probably need at least a few clips to hold the new assemble together.
