    Hey all,

Just got a new Sager NP8325 with Windows 7 and Realtek RTL8723AE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC network card. After some Win7 and various Microsoft updates my comp won't detect our home wifi network. The network is working for other computers. I've rolled back my system to its state before the updates but it hasn't fixed the problem. I'm assuming the driver is having issues with the other system updates. Apparently the wifi card hasn't updated its driver automatically, as the rollback option in Device Manager is unavailable. Anyone else had this problem? Any troubleshooting tips? I can't find (or am unable to figure out how to install) a newer driver; all the Realtek-specific drivers on Sager's site ( here) are for Win8.

    Thanks!

Do you mean NP8230/8235? There is a Windows 7 Realtek driver for that.

Yes, that's my computer--sorry, I transposed the numbers. Once I install the driver (run the .exe file), how do I select that driver in Device Manager? Every time I browse to a different folder and hit Next, Windows informs me that my driver is up-to-date and won't let me choose a different one. Sorry, rookie here.

I ran setup.exe from the files installed by the .exe I downloaded from Sager's site. This did not fix the problem. In Device Manager, the path listed for the driver files has not changed. Should it have?

I will call someone after Christmas for help; should I contact Sager directly or is it better to contact XOTIC PC because I bought the comp from them?

You can contact either really. For simple software troubleshooting, try Xotic first. If it comes down to something more serious, you may need to get in touch with Sager for a RMA.

I would suggest uninstalling your current Realtek driver, then try installing the latest one I linked you to. Make sure this is not a network/router issue, either. A lot of end users presume the card to be faulty, but half of the time (roughly) the issue is either with network configurations or the router itself. If other devices are connecting to your router with no problems still, then look into the router settings.
