This is more of a question...
The reason the P150HM is separated from the P151HM1 is the finish, etc. etc. But also the option for an extreme CPU in a well-cooled 15 incher.
But what good is an extreme processor offer if they don't support any method of taking advantage of the unlocked multipliers?..
Has Sager/Clevo been this limiting in BIOS options, or is this a new thing that has come to this generation of models?
Are there any plans to enable BIOS overclocking of extreme processors for the P150HM?... I understand XTU is limited via Chipset so we can't use that, but as far as I know, BIOS multiplier options are independent from chipset so we should be able to use that no problem..

From the history of things we do know that Clevo is conservative when it comes to opening up to allow overclocking in the bios.
This model came with the Intel HM65 Express Chipset which it itself is not designed for really extreme stuff.
Clevo from the beginning of shipping this model never released more than a standard bios with very little options.
I would venture to say this is mainly because of the 15' chassis. It seems like they have always been more conservative with this size.
The 17' and 18' models have been the CPU overclocking models. Sorry

I just wanted to see how Clevos were in terms of openness of BIOS in the past, to see if it was just this model or clevo's history of things..
Thanks for the clarification.

As Larry said, this wasn't an issue with the Bios. The HM65 chipset just doesn't support the unlocked multiplier at all. Whether you buy from Clevo or elsewhere, that would still be the case. It's a pretty decent option just to have such a high end CPU regardless
The HM67 chipset in the P170HM will take advantage of the unlocked multiplier though. -
The HM67 does NOT HELP WITH OC AT ALL, when you have a 3D screen version!
THX TO CLEVO BIOS RESTRICTIONS.
They have no confidence that what they build can handle OC.
This rant is for you Ryan:
LESS QUALLITY PARTS = MORE MONEY = NO OC = LESS RMA = MORE MONEY = HAPPY CLEVO COMPANY TODAY = NO MORE CLEVO COMPANY TOMORROW = VERY STUPID MANAGEMENT WITHOUT A JOB -
Yeah, I sold my 2920XM, and probably will just downgrade to a cheap ES....
Reason for offer of 2920XM in a P150HM..
