So I got my brand new 5797 a few days ago, and I do like it (even though on the first boot-up I was greeted with a message that windows was not shut down properly...awesome). But right after I ordered it I noticed the new msi gt725, which has an hd4850 and the same CPU as mine (p9500). Oh, and it's $700 less than the 5797. Does it make sense to return mine and pick up the msi? Or convince me for my sanity that i'm getting something for the price difference. Help me out...

there is this benchmark list (in which the mobile HD 4850 ranks 10th)......though many people around here would prolly tell you to take those figures with a grain of salt....

You are right. Can`t take that list for good fish. If you see the "*" next to the 10th, and scroll down, its only an "Approximate position of the graphics adapter." Same goes for the HD4870.

Would be nice to see a more trustworthy review =)

I would return the sager. Odds are the 4850 may not be quit as strong, but a 700$ price difference is quite a lot of cash back in your pocket.

Depends what you're going to do with the laptop. If you're going to play graphics intensive games like Crysis etc, I'd definitly keep the Sager.

thanks for the comments guys. The question really is how does the hd4850 compare to the 9800m gtx. And I guess the answer is that we don't know yet...

I use Linux distros... I need Nvidia. ;)

although ATI is giving Nvidia a run for the money in terms of bang for the buck to a the average notebook gaming buyer.

Wrong place to ask in my opinion. You should go to the WNSIB Forum to guarantee a non-biased reply.
