A few days ago my new np8662 arrived, and boy is it amazing. Everything about it is just unreal. its so fast and runs Crysis on high without a hiccup haha. The only thing is, the cd drive really buzzes when you put a disc in and is extremely loud. Has anyone heard of this issue or is it just my laptop?

Yeah, that happens with some discs; Fallout 3 on my case. The DVD drive shakes waaay too much, and hits the case of the laptop repeatedly. I inserted some piece of paper between the drive and the case, but it didnt help much.

mine is definitely on the loud side with some vibrations as well; extremely? I'd say no, but it's subjective....

Yeah so is mine, besides hearing the initial spinning sound it makes when loading a disk it's very quiet.
Maybe it's loose inside and have to tighten some screws.

Depends on certain disks. Normally when its installing software it goes like that for me. And more so CD's than DVD's. However, if its just running the game with the disc or playing a DVD movie, no noise.
