I am looking for a vendor recommendation that provides a 3 or 4 year warranty (including accidents/spills).

I am not looking for the cheapest vendor per se as I already had a laptop die right after a shorter warranty and don't want that again...

The laptop I am leaning toward is a on a Sager NP8150 / Clevo P150HM.

Thanks Patrick. I missed that in the thread (eyes are bleeding from all the reading)...

Is Origin a seperate vendor from Mythlogic?

Unfortunately it looks like even Mythlogic doesn't cover accidents, spills, etc... I haven't found any that also cover accident/spills for any period of time for Clevo/Sager laptops let alone 3+ years.

Origin is completely different than Mythlogic. Origin way over-prices their tech because people who aren't enthusiasts have heard of them.

You're not going to get an accidental warranty on a Clevo/Sager laptop. And, if you do, you're probably going to pay as much as buying this laptop and one to replace it after this one breaks.

The best you'll get is 3yr + accidental coverage on the LCD alone, which I'm only seeing on XoticPC's site.

The only way to get an accidental damage warranty is to purchase third-party coverage from someplace such as SquareTrade. I also found Worth Ave Group that offers insurance policies on electronics covering natural disasters, accidental damage, theft, and vandalism. They offer coverage for up to 3 years for notebooks valued up to $5,000 with deductibles of $0, $50, or $100.

The quote I'm getting is $350 for a $1,750 notebook with accidental damage. Now you can take 20% right off the top because SquareTrade frequently offers discount coupons.

Interestingly, a 3-year Worth Ave Group policy on a laptop of similar value with $0 deductible $218.30. That's in Illinois, obviously the cost will vary depending on location. Worth also covers theft and vandalism, which SquareTrade does not.

I don't know how they can afford to pay out on 3 year accidental warranties. You'd think that a lot of people would just pour some water on their laptop after 2 years and 10 months, fry the MoBo and get a new one.

^ If you turn off the laptop immediately, pull out the battery and AC adapter, let it dry for a couple of hours, most likely your laptop will be fine.

Yeah...but people wouldn't do that if they're intentionally trying to destroy their laptop. I guess I'm just taking a cynical view of what people would do here.
