I'm seeing a bunch of problems with this screen these days, so I'll share mine.
Whenever there are rapid changes on the screen like subtitles or a black background, there's a red ghost of the previous image for a split-second. It's sometimes a trail when playing games.
This laptop is not even a week old.

quality control is lacking, I'd say. sorry you are having problems. Wouldn't you think that for the price they charge for these things (both the Sagers in general, and the 95% screen, plus the $75 up charge for zero dead pixels) that SOMEBODY would take a freakin' look at the screen before packaging them up and sending them to their customers??
-
I know mythlogic does quality control and calibrates their screens as well. Might be the problem with the op's screen.

May I suggest you contact your reseller for assistance with this problem. This needs to be looked into asap....
_ -
All these issues with the 95% gamut screens are pretty discouraging.
I hope the AUO11ED stock matte screens will be available again... -
Should I roll the dice and hope for a good replacement screen or request a downgrade to either glossy screen?
Sager automatically RMA'd me after the initial email exchange.
Should I involve Xotic PC? -
If it was me, I'd probably opt for the downgrade. Can't be any worse than that video you showed. Plus, maybe you can get a few bucks back or some store credit.
Pretty disconcerting seeing these issues with these screens. Sucks man, I hope you get it resolved. -
actually i experience this on the boot up screen
-
quite disturbing how so many people with the 95% gamut matte screen are experiencing issues.
-
Are all B156HW01 V4 screens defective or something?
-
I'm thinking is it they are defective or lack of calibration?
-
Probably a combination of both of those things, Drew.
-
Yeah, this is probably going to keep me from ordering that screen as I seem to have problems with screens every time I buy a laptop. Or at least until we figure out if it's a simple calibration problem from the factory. I'm beyond gun shy when it comes to screens, and this is the 4th thread about this screen. Have we seen any problems with the 95% gloss screen yet?
-
Hey guys, I am also plagued with this issue on my Np8130 with the len40b2 matte panel. My current panel shows the same issue: red ghosting/fading. fairly annoying :s I am planning to RMA and see if they could swap the panel with a glossy one.
-
(LEN40B2 = B156HW01 V4)
Sager, what have you done? -
I have the same red ghosting effect in my 95% gamut matte screen on my Sager NP8150. I only see that occur when there is a black background then something lighter in color, white for example and hover it across the black background, you will see red ghosting effect behind the trail of white-something (mouse arrow pointer for example) then after a second it returns back to black. I don't really mind it because it never happens during gaming, only on internet browser, start menu, boot menu, etc. I don't know why it did not occur during gaming. It does not bother me. It's minimal. The screen is amazing though.
-
I never noticed this ghosting issue, but the blacks were almost reddish. I even calibrated my screen with a Spyder 3 several times and just couldn't seem to get it right. The default looked better, although still not right. In any case, love the machine, just need something with longer battery life is all. Sure wish Sager would have offered switchable graphics, probably would have given me the battery life I need.
-
I also have no issue with ghosting. Perhaps we can see how the custom orders ($195) screens are doing compared to the Sager standard ($95) ones.

See if it helps you using nVidia color control as he stated. -
Now y'all have me nervous about my order. Are the resellers covering this as a defect should I get a screen with this issue?
-
Well, Sager is well-aware of the issue and told me to hold off on my RMA for a few days until the engineers find a solution.

This has been provided by Sager on this issue:

Yup. I'm even in Return with Refund territory.
Yet some people have had their laptop for months.
This isn't just a bad shipment. -

I run centralized storage at home so for the most part, my machines are empty. Coupled with a slipstream install and/or backup image, I can get machines up and running in <20 minutes. I do a ton of reinstalls on home machines so it's a time saver (and worth trying if you're constantly having to swap out laptops/harddrives) -

How does Windows activation work if I restore to another HDD or another HDD on a different laptop? Also, I have some software that has been activated like FSX, Adobe FSE9, and Adobe LR. -

Okay, just kidding. I do have a ghosting issue. Use the black screen test: Pure black test screen
So much for the dream screen :/ -
Horrifying, isn't it?
This just keeps getting worse and worse.
Almost everyone with the screen has the problem and this goes back months. -
Thankfully it doesn't look like I have a ghosting issue. Hopefully you all with it can get it fixed.
-
I hate to say it, but I also am having a problem with red ghosting. Except it's with my Malibal Lotus P151HM1 display. More specifically, the 15.6" 1920 x 1080 FHD LED AUO B156HW01 V.7 95% NTSC Glossy Display, not the Matte.
My computer is currently in the RMA process through Malibal. So far, they have done a pretty outstanding job with this whole RMA process. It sucks getting a shiny new computer and then having to send it back to be fixed. Now I spend my 3 hour breaks between classes slicing fruit on my iphone, instead of doing something productive like homework on my laptop. =( -
Oh boy. The glossy screen is bad too?
I'm beginning to think that the entire B156HW01 line is s***. -
What the f...
I'm glad I saw this thread before I jumped on my Lotus P151HM1
I don't like being a complainer, but this needs to get resolved ASAP, its just unacceptable. -
Helmetface, not to worry - we now inspect for the ghosting issue before shipping new orders out.
-
-
As far as this ghosting issue goes, can it develop? Or is it a "defect from birth" type scenario?
Thank You -

As reported by Sager on August 15th...
'....we have added additional QC Testing into our process to screen for ghosting issues panels. Panels with ghosting issues will not shipped be to customers.'

I just want to note that I'm not trying to be a fanboy for Malibal. For me, it was hard doing research on laptops. The Clevo models had such great spec's, but I had never heard of the company's that sold them. I was the person who always went with the brands I could find in stores, such as ASUS or Gateway. Wherever you buy your computer from, Malibal, XoticPC, or straight from Sager, I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed
If you have any questions about the Lotus P151HM1 and want some feedback from someone who owns one, just post back, I'll be happy to answer them if I can. -
Is it prevalent in the shipments you've received? -
But with their reassurance that they are doing further testing to combat these issues, I feel very comfortable with choosing them.
Thanks Again -
I feel quite betrayed that the normal QC process didn't catch this.
The ghosting has been seen on laptops shipped in May. -
I've got the ghosting issue on my 5165 as well ... It shipped in early August ... now i'm stuck paying shipping to have it RMA'd ... sucks. A $1000 laptop is now costing me $1500 ... sucks.
-
Why do you have to pay for the RMA? Isn't this covered as a warranty issue?

Laptop arrived today with this issue
Glossy 95% gamut, P150.
Red ghosting and fading on my NP5165'd matte 95% gamut screen.
