I was surfing around Sager re-sellers yesterday I stumbled across Redbarn computers. So like most of the other re-seller websites I tried to configure the same setup that I bought from xoticpc just to see price differences. When I got to the 9262/D901c configurator I noticed that they offer the old QX6850 3.0 Extreme processor as a option. I was puzzled because I didnt think a 9262 would even boot up with a extreme cpu considering its power requirements. Anyways I'm just wondering If they were able to get a 9262 up and running with that processor, how would you be able to change the multiplier if there isn't one in the bios at all????? My curiosity has me staring at my PC tower which happens to have one of those cpu's in it lol. Just daydreaming I guess.

if it offers a cpu that sager does not then it is not a sager reseller. it's probably an independant clevo reseller like eurocom, prostar, killernotebooks, etc.

I was just checking out Red Barn computers today...then I realized I can't imagine owning a $2000+ high performance gaming laptop with a red barn on the lid

The qx6850 will probably work without problem. The stock frequnecy is 3.0 GHz, which is the max they are using now. The fact that is qx6850 means that on desktop pc you can change the multiplier and overclock it. On D901C this option is locked (no oveclock). So it will essentially perform only at 3GHz. I recommend you to get the q9650 has also 3Ghz but it should run cooler.

I just check the site of that company. The option they offer are quite old, like 8 months ago. I do not recommend to buy from there. Now you can buy the D901C with 45 nm processors and the 9800GTX video card.

Taking in account the options, it is possible that they do not offer anymore the laptops and forgot to erase it from the webpage.

LOL, I just thought it was a little strange that they say they are a Sager re-seller, but when I called Sager they told me (red barn who?)that CPU was never an option. I would imagine that cpu would idle around 60c in the 9262. Im satisfied with my q9550, just a lil curious is all. ;-)
