It's been a long time since I've visited these forums and I've been very happy with my laptop. Recently though, it's been taking a while to boot up and hasn't been running like it used to. I'm thinking of reformatting and reinstalling Windows 7 and I was wondering what are the MUST have drivers and which order to install them in. Links would be appreciated, but if not, I can Google and find them myself.

So far, the only drivers I have are:

    Intel display drivers (10.18.10.3643)
    Realtek audio drivers (R275)
    AMD (14.7 RC1)
    Intel wireless (16.11.0)

Thank you so much. For others looking to do what I'm about to do, have no idea (or forgot) where to start and came across this thread, check out these links below:

    CLEVO Driver Download
Clevo P170EM Drivers Download for Windows 7, 8, XP, Vista
Download free driver for notebook Clevo P170EM (Windows 7, XP, Vista) << DriverPack Solution

I'm going to go with the first one because it's Clevo's but the other two came up when I searched and could be good, too.

And of course, you can always go here.

Thanks! I just finished redoing my computer. Starts up much quicker now among other things. One thing I noticed about Intel's latest WLAN drivers though is that it adds a blank entry in my Control Panel. :/ Kind of annoying to look at. I tried removing it from registry but it doesn't work.

glad to hear you got it running good again.

no idea what the blank entry could be. maybe running a cc cleaner registry scan might get rid of it.

I guess it's a small annoyance I can live with. One thing about the AuthenTec TrueSuite, though, I can't seem to get my fingerprint to register. Is the file from the Sager site the latest?

As far as I know, yes, at least for Clevo systems. AuthenTec no longer develops for Clevo machines, so driver + software is mostly only going to be found through resellers.

If you can't get the Sager driver to work, try the Clevo one. It may not be updated anymore, but your machine is in fact NOT a Sager, being from Malibal, so it could possibly have a BIOS conflict of some kind. It's a long shot, but it can't hurt to try. Good luck!
