I've had this laptop for 1 month now and I noticed performance setbacks..

Vista is getting slower and lags a bit...
I think this is due to the HDD..

For example, when I analyzed my HDD with perfectdisk it took max 20-30 secs.. Now it takes more than 2 mins!

    Is this normal?

I think it's more of a software issue than hardware issue really. The more programs installed and processes running in the background are what really causes lag in the OS.

    Have you defragged recently?

Run a chkdsk (either upon reboot, or from the windows recovery console), then defrag, then look for software issues.
