    Hi guys,

I already posted in the 'What Notebook to buy' section, however I'd like to ask you lot about acquiring a used/refurbished Clevo laptop.
I've heard only good things about these particular machines and it seems logical that they'd be ideal choices for a second-hand laptop.
To cut a long story kinda short: I'm in Europe, girlfriend is not. Her laptop is broken and I need to buy a replacement one for less than 400$ (if at all possible).

What I'd like to ask if anybody knows a reliable online shop that sells quality refurbished laptops that I can buy without having to worry about it dying on me a couple of weeks later.

    Thanks a lot!

you can buy a used sager for less than $400? Might be a really old model though....... if anything. Have a feeling sagers retain value pretty well.

I had a look at eBay and they have about 7 currently listed.
If by old you mean single-core Pentium M, then no problem.

    It's for office/internet, so doesn't need much power/graphics/space.
I appreciate your efforts however. So just let me know if you know of something.

    r4yn0r,
Clevo caters to a the niche high-end market. You might find one for $400 but it will be older than many other offerings for the same money. If your girlfriend doesn't need anything special, I'd suggest a laptop from one of the big box companies. Keep checking them for sales/promos.

    All,
But I'd like to ask the same question without the $400 cap. I know that Alienware sells their refurbs. But what do the other Clevo resellers do with thier returns/refurbs?

    I'm very tempted to get a $1600 Alienware M9750 (T7200 core2duo, dual 512MB M7950GTX, 17" 1900x1200 LCD, 2gb DDR2 PC5300, DVD-RW, wi-fi, WinVista.) Or they usually have a similar build but with dual 512MB M8700GT for the same price.

(Why they load WinVista on a DX9 system and WinXP on a DX10 system is a topic for another thread.)
