    Hi,

has anyone removed the stickers (HDMI and SRS WOW) from the palm rest area? If so, how did you clean the residue? I don't want to get some funny chemical reactions (happened to me once before with brushed aluminium), so I am better asking, as silly as it may seem.

Thank you for your help in advance. :)

I removed the HDMI sticker from my D900F, no problem, no residue. Just using the finger nail method ;-)

Seconded. Fingernails and a little bit of water and a tshirt after the removal is all you need.

the easiest way to remove stickers and leave nothing behind is to heat up the surface where the sticker is and the adhesive will become like butter when you peel it.

use a hair dryer on the area to heat it up a bit... then peel the sticker as the surface is still warm/hot.

Thank you. Gone now. Fingernails worked just fine for removing the stickers. The left sticker (HDMI) left no residue whatsoever, but the right sticker (SRS WOW) left a nasty residue behind (like a bubble gum). First I tried rubbing it off by hand, but that produced only a partial success. Then I used a little bit of water and a supersoft microfibre cloth. This almost did the job, but there were still some persistant leftovers sticking to the surface like if there was no tomorrow. Finally, adding a few drops of an ordinary (bleach-free) dishwashing liquid took care of the leftovers. Heating up the surface prior to removing the stickers would have have been helpful, but I have no such device as a hair dryer. ;)

If you haven't done it yet, I can only recommend doing away with the stickers. The notebook looks even sleakier without them. :)

Theres a product called Goo Gone that removes sticker residue very easily. I used it on a bunch of different surfaces, mostly desks and its very good. You can find it at your local Wegmans or Staples. There are probably other places that you an buy it but i dont know any.

Put WD40 on any adhesive residue for a few seconds and it will wipe right off.

    Magic stuff.

I just did mine right now, haha. Same thing happened on mine, what helps is just using one of the previously removed sticker and sticking the sticky end onto the nasty stuff, doing it a few times will remove the gunk. A piece of regular scotch tape works too.

When I ordered my np9280 from Sager, I just asked them to refrain from placing any stickers.

In light of the fact that the front end of the laptop tends to warm up, it's just as well you put on a high intensity program and then remove the stickers before it cools down.
