    I think there's a problem with my laptop -_-
(Im using my girlfriend's computer to type this msg)

It cant seem to boot to the windows
I tried booting from the cd but it doesnt work
I tried safemode but doesnt work either

    Like....
it will load 1/2way and before it reaches windows it will just restart
    and same thing happens

    I think its a hardware failure :(
I might need to repair it

    problem is...
is there even a SAGER branch here in Australia?
I bought it from PCTorque last year
and i think the warranty's out too :(
which means i need to pay for the repairs :(

But yeah, can anyone help me?
I need a branch to repair my Sager 9750V

    It might be HDD:
I would try to do a CHKDSK /R

use your Windows XP CD and go into Recovery Console
    then use the command:
    CHKDSK C: /R

if you cant get that far, get the XP bootable floppy here:
    http://www.winxpfix.com/page10.htm#floppybootd

If its RAM (or CPU Cache), I would burn MemTest86+ iso and let it scan your memory.

CHKDSK is a bit time consuming (1-2 hours), it does help to fix any errors on the HDD, which can sometimes cause slowdowns and crashes.

    yes ,i want to chkdsk
    ummm, so....
do i just go to run
    and then type 'CHKDSK C: /R' ?

it doesnt matter if its time consuming
i just dont want anything bad to happen to my laptop :(

    btw, it crashed again *sigh
    im now in safe mode

oh, definitely do the CHKDSK then.

if the CHKDSK finds no errors, then I would do the MemTest86+ next.

I tried doing it from recovery console
    this is dumb

it asked me to type administrator password
    but the thing is...
i dont recall putting ANY password at all
so i just leave it blank and press ENTER

    and it says
    'password incorrect'
    please input password
and then i did the same thing for 3X and it restarted on its own

    *sigh*
    help :(

defrags dont really do much anymore (was more useful back in the FAT32 days)... especially the Windows defrag, there are other 3rd party programs that do a better job.

You dont really need to defrag though, just make sure to watch for red flags that can indicate HDD errors.

Just make sure you shut it down when you dont use it, standby/hibernates are not that great.

with ANY computer, its not recommended to leave it on all the time. That would just cause unnecessary heat, wear and tear.... which would just shorten the life span of the system.

    Its physics and mechanics:
Heat is always a factor that causes the efficiency and lifespan of any machine to degrade.

remove your dying battery and power it on with just AC power.

after you remove the battery, you can just leave it plugged it 24/7 if you want. Make sure its not just plugged into wall socket, you should use a decent surge protector or UPS.

    this is great -_-
after removing the battery, my laptop refuses to boot up :(

    its like...
you know how when you boot your com,
you can hear the sound of the cd-rom reading the disc?
(just once before it shows the SAGER logo?)

In this case, you never get to see the SAGER logo at all
its like, i keep hearing the 'clonk' sound the cd-rom reading the disc and it just stays there and keeps doing that

    its like...
it keeps restarting itself again and again
and simple refuses to even go to the SAGER logo page :(

    i need help :(
i think i might just send it to the repair station
I've already emailed PC-torque but they didnt reply my mail~

Is there a sager service station here in australia?
i dont wanna send it all the way to the us :(

    Ok this is strange
i placed the battery back in and it seems to boot up fine~

    However,
the bad thing is that the color seems distorted :(
instead of black, it'll give green color

    ive posted the pic here~
hopefully you guys can take a look and tell me what's wrong :(

You mean this is not your wallpaper? :D j/k.

Maybe an overheating/defective video card there.

your pic, make it look like driver issue

    OR:
the lcd cabling or inverter might not be loose or damaged.

try to open and close the LCD (while watching the screen).

if the colors or the screen flickers, then there is a loose connection.

    hmmm
    ok its kinda fixed now

    what i did was
i just apply a slight pressure on the keyboard area downwards
and the color's problem is fixed

    what does that tell me?
    so there's a loose connection?

yup sounds like some connects are either loose, or a bit out of place.

you can pop up the keyboard easily (no screws) and check out the wiring.

I posted on how to remove a Clevo keyboard somewhere in this forum.

Make sure the system is off. Not plugged into AC. Remove battery for precautions.

Its simple for Clevo keyboards. All you need is a basic (small) flat-head screwdriver.
There are 4 pieces of retractable plastic holding down the keyboard.
Look at the picture that I have attached.
Just push the plastic pieces gently upward (toward the lcd screen) which would retract them to release that part of the keyboard. This should only take less than 30 seconds.

After the keyboard is released, you will find a cable under it (connects to motherboard), you can remove it if you want, just remember its position.

    Thats it.

well look for any wires that are popping/bulging up, and try to slide them back to a near location to avoid such bulges.

since your going in there, I would reseat the Wifi-card as well.
