My np9262 suddenly died last week. Would not turn on, no lights anywhere, nothing. I thought it was the motherboard. Contacted the reseller and was kindly forwarded to Sager in California. Sager gave me an RMA, and had the lappy back in less than 4 days.
Sager wrote that they replaced the video card.
I bought it in June 27, 2008.
Has anyone had this type of problem with the new 8800 GTX video cards - in SLI?
My lappy has:
Quad 9550, dual 8800's video cards, 4GB memory, 2-HD 200GB in Raid 1, DVD, Vista Business 64 bit.
Mainboard info from 3dmarkvantage shows: Clevo D900C, revision D, BIOS version 6.00, BIOS release date 09/24/2008.
Only used for office work, no games. Thus, the "weird" part of the video card going bad?!
Any info on this or suggestions are welcomed.

A very small number of components can go bäd, even if they pass the initial tests. there is nothing to do about.

The 8xxx series of cards are not the hardiest of designs, and I believe that, in the aggregate, those cards are suffering from a greater-than-average likelihood of early failure. Sounds like you just had the bad luck to get one that was weaker than the average 8xxx series card.

Two videocards for office work only seems a bit like overkill to me but what strikes me most is that both systems died?
Did you try to remove or swap the videocards, couldn't you run your system on the remaining good card? -
Hi,
The problem was that the notebook would not turn on at all? No lights, not even the blue ring on the power button.
I did the usual stuff, take out battery, try starting with AC plug. Reinstall battery try without AC plug. Nothing changed.
I wasn't going to start taking the system apart to check each hardware device. Just my luck and I would've probably broken a cable or such and then no warranty.
Since, Sager wrote that it was only the video card (not video "cards", ie. both) it's really strange that I wouldn't get any power at all. The system should have started and then some "error" message about a video card being bad, or the like. But, no power, no noise, no lights.
Strange that a video card will bring the whole system down.
So, has anyone else experience such a thing on a 9262?
Replaced your video cards within 1 yr on a new NP9262?
