    Hi Everyone,
I had ordered the NP5790 direct from Sager several weeks ago, and when it arrived it was having severe overheating problems (80 degrees celcius plus, and shutting down).

I RMA'd it, and as requested I'm following up on the service. Sager refunded my money with no questions asked, so I was well pleased.

Based on the opinions on this forum, I ordered a replacement from XoticPC instead. Justin and the rest of the gang went out of their way to assist me, as I had a few special requirements getting a laptop shipped to me in an RV park.

It arrived yesterday, and I'm SO thrilled to say it runs beautifully cool! General computer tasks (web browsing, email, word processing, etc) have the CPU's running an average of 20-25 degrees celcius, and as of yet I've not done anything to get them to exceed 35 degrees. Woohoo!

The GPU is running at about 51 degrees, I haven't taxed it yet but that seems about normal.

What a difference! The CD drive doesn't make awful noises when using it either. Obviously, the first model I got was defective.
    :D

How can you tell the CPU temperature, anyway?

Congratulations, cjtinkle! That should be a great machine.

Have a look at the Monitoring mobile ATI & nVidia Video Card Temps guide.
It's not a bad idea to monitor your CPU, HDD and GPU temperatures.

It's awesome! On this one the fans works... LOL. I am so pleased with it, it's built quite solidly, runs great and someday I hope to get used to that orange trim. :D

I was very pleased with the service actually from both XoticPC and Sager direct, I'd do business with either of them again, and probably will shortly, as hubby is about ready for a new laptop too. I was sneakily thinking about the time the white trim 5790 becomes available, I'd order it and give him the orange one! :D
