So i'm gonna buy and replace my defect GTX 8800M with a FX 3700M.

So i'm wondering before i buy it - if i can just take the old card out of this casing.

And put the FX 3700M into it and it will fit just fine?

Thanks I was about to buy a Lenovo. What I'm unsure about are if I need to use the casing you see on the picuter and put the FX 3700M Into it? And will it fit whit the holes thats on the case and my heatsink? It seems like the person posting in that thread had problems with the heatsink`?

Sorry, I can't see your picture. Maybe you could upload it as an attachment?

BTW: mxm-upgrade has a guide to replace the video card of m570tu/m571tu.

I just replaced my 9800m GTS with an HP 3700m. Only mod I "Had" to do was to the copper case the card sits in, your pic. There were 4 fixed nut plates, that I had to drill out of the copper case, then the 3700m fit perfectly ! You can see 2 of the nut plates on either side of the arrow, in your pic ! Like I said, this was an HP card, not sure if you would need to do this with the Lenovo card .

I'm gonna go for a HP card after what Saltius mentioned. And since its not to much to mod I should be able to drill those nut plates myself. Great guide Salt thank you both appreciate it!
