The Intel 6300 Ultimate-N card in my laptop seems to have the sleep issue. That being, after the laptop resumes from sleep it takes a good 2-3 minutes to reconnect to my wifi. The thing is, most of the time when I am resuming from sleep it's to check something online quick. Something that takes 2-3 minutes. It takes twice as long now since I have to wait for the wifi to reconnect.

Currently running version 14.1.1.3 driver (Also tried version 14.1.1.1). No PROset software (recently removed it...didn't make a difference)
Before uninstalling PROset, I tried letting it manage the 6300 with no luck.

I tried putting the 6300 adapter as top priority in the Advanced section of network adapters.

Power Management option to allow the system to turn off power for the 6300 has been disabled.

I'm at a loss. Can't figure out how to fix this problem.

That said, what kind of ordeal is it to remove the 6300 card, purchase a Killer 1102 or 1103 card and install it? I'm not sure where on the mobo the wifi card slot is.

A 2-3 minute delay on reconnection is a bit on the long side. Do any other machines have issues on reconnection to this particular access point, or just this one? It should usually only take <30 seconds to enable on returning from sleep. It sounds like otherwise you've already checked all the usual suspects on your machine.

Feel free to contact us directly if you'd like to open a support ticket on it.

If however, you want to go the replacement route and do it yourself, it's a pretty easy job. You have to pop off the bezel at the top of the keyboard, unscrew and remove the keyboard, and then you should have access.

Forum user Theriko has available the guides in his sig :)

    Cool thanks. :)

It seems that this is a bit of an issue with the Intel 6300 cards so I don't think it's a defective card or anything. My wife's laptop (Toshiba Tecra) has no problem reconnecting almost immediately from sleep so I know it's not the access point. Just to be sure, I upgraded to the latest access point firmware and the problem is still there.

I may just try buying a Killer card and replacing it myself and then sell the 6300 as long as this doesn't void warranty. Does it?

Anyone want to buy an Intel 6300 Ultimate-N wireless card? ;)

Nope, it won't void your warranty to swap out the card. The warranty won't apply to the new card you add, but otherwise you'll be ok on the rest of the machine :)
