    I have a P150hm from years back, and the graphics card (Radeon 6990HD) completely died, not even able to boot into safe-mode. I ordered a new one (Nvidia 765M) and everything seemed good to go, minus a few screws that I lose everytime I open it ~_~ until I turned it on.

    The card died before I could flash the machine's bios, or alter the boot order to be USB before HDD, so now even with the new card it won't get past the POST screen. The screen will come up, but it won't let me get to the other screens, F2 or F7 / F8.

    Can anyone offer any advice or something I may have over-looked, or is the only option left salvaging different parts of my sage (The 'r' fell off of sager :p ) for a new machine?

    What card did you get. Only Clevo/Sager cards will work, did you get one pulled from another brand by chance?

    Argh, i typed up a reply but my phone ate it.

    I bought a 765M pulled from an Alienware. I'm guessing that that's a no-no then.

    Would there be no way to get it to work, I ask as I'm typing on my phone because of the loss of my only computer ;_;

    Didn't know that, thanks for the information.

    I suppose my most prudent option at this point is to return the card.

    Thanks for the help.

    I did not know that mobile gpus had to be custom made for their manufacturer. Do you have any more insight into why this is(what the difference is between Alienware 765M vs Clevo 765M)?

    Its the vBIOS and/or the BIOS of the computer. You may be able to flash a different version on it but as a Reseller we cant go into that. Maybe someone will come along with more information on doing so.

    I see. Weird since so many people use custom bioses and vbioses nowadays seems like he should be able to overwrite the default bios and make it work. But thank for the info.

    The vbios is not even the major issue. Dell's EC controller is incompatible with Clevo(most of the time). You can flash a Dell card with Clevo vbios and it still won't work.

    The older systems also dont take well to the 7xx series either. So it's a no go on two fronts.
