Hey, my new Clevo w255hn will arrive tomorrow (hopefully). It's a replacement for my broken clevo m860tu, and they'll reuse some of it's components. I don't wan't to cause much of a hassle as the retailer has been extremely slow, but i'm thinking of buying an ssd for primary hdd, and putting the old one as storage in replacement for the optical bay.
And here's where i need help, i don't know where to buy the part the replaces the optical bay, or even what it's called which makes it quite hard to find for me. Please help, I live in denmark, so european retailers are preffered. (if it's against policy to post a retailer, please pm me.)

    Thanks in advance.

btw, if anyone know anything (reviews, anything) about the w255hn except for specs, please let me know. I'm quite nervous about build quality and such.

What you are looking for is a Optical bay hard drive caddy. It might also be called a mounting bracket. You dont need any specific one, any should work.

True! remember that laptop disk drive bays are a standard seize unless otherwise specified (rarely the case) so those Emphyrio posted should work, just be careful when it comes to the connections it contains, the normal one for your laptop would be SATA to SATA, be sure it is that way and you wont get any surprises when it gets to you!

    take a look at this: M15x Optical Drive HDD Caddy Installation (56k Warning) - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net

    hope it helps!

    Thanks!
Hoped it would be a bit simpler than disassembling the whole laptop though! I'll just have to wait and see if it's easier on my laptop.

I dont know if this is the case with the Clevo w255hn, but most open tray ( not slot loading ) laptops have optical drives that can be removed by taking out one screw on the bottom and then the bay just slides out... its the easiest part to replace actually. If it happens to be slot loading then you might have to go through a dissassembly process like the M15x

The specs say it is a changeable drive with Sata connection. You should have no issues changing it out. Enjoy.
