Do I need a mounting kit of some type in order to replace my optical drive with a hard drive? I have a 5796 notebook.
I want to add a SSD drive in addition to my existing 320 GB HDD. Should I move the old HDD into the optical bay or put the SSD there?

    Thanks. :)

Yes, you will. Check out this thread (post #18) http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=388625&page=2

As for which should go where, that would probably depend on whether both interfaces are SATA-II or if one is only SATA-I, and I don't know the specs on the 5796.

It's also worth noting that the optical bay is 12.7mm, so if you were thinking about putting in one of those big 1 TB drives in the optical bay, that could also be an option.
