Request Help - NP8120 will not accept any ATI video drivers - Long Read

I've been working on my laptop for the last 5 days to no avail. I keep going in circles so I need some fresh eyes to help me out. The symptoms are as follows:

Over the past 4 years that I have owned this laptop, I have had intermittent BSODs involving my video drivers and my wireless drivers. Typically they would recover and I could move on. I always have kept up with the best and latest drivers. Sometimes when I boot up, my laptop will not recognize having a wireless adapter, so, I would shut down, reboot, until it would finally work. Now, I guess I have run out of time. Last Friday, my laptop would boot to the windows loading screen and stick. I would hit the power button and try again. No good. I used recover, no good. I can get into safe mode with networking (which is where I am at now).

What I have done over the past 5 days is wipe the computer clean. Reloaded Windows 7 SP1. Deleted all ATI drivers using Driver Fusion. I used CCleaner to clean up. I have also used DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller). I have used WhoCrashed to generate reports from my dump files. I reloaded all of my old drivers from the Sager website, minus the video drivers and the system seems stable. Then try to load ATI drivers, and I am back where I started, freezing at windows loading screen. Delete the drivers, load old video drivers, same thing.

I will post my dxdiag info here, and whatever other info you may need, but I need some help. Im at my wits end and I need this laptop back to top shape due to work.

FYI I am willing to start fresh on all troubleshooting. I just need some guidance on what to do. I cannot make heads nor tails of these reports like the experts. Oh and my video cards are 2x ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 .

 

In safe mode, remove the video drivers, if the machine boots then the GPU is dead.

 

Have you tried doing your trouble shooting with just one GPU installed. It could be an issue with one of the two you have.

 

Ok. I have done this before, and was able to get the machine to run using plain VGA generic drivers.

 

I have not tried removing one of the cards and rebooting. I will try this and hopefully its just one card.
BTW, I bought this laptop from yall. This is my second Sager. Sell any Mobility HD5870 cards by chance? LOL

If you do find one of them are bad we can ask Sager to see if they happen to have anymore available. Will wait for your update.

 

UPDATE - One of my cards is bad. I am currently up and running on one. I am putting it to the test as well trying to get it to crash and so far running smooth. GRRRRRR 5 days and it was a bad card (everything I read on the net pointed towards drivers mismatching and conflicts...)

Good news you're making some headway on it now. At least you can use your computer again with the single card. If interested in looking at availability of a second one you can open a RMA ticket under the contact section on our site. That will provide us with the info we need and we can check with Sager if they have one.
