The first time i got my W860CU Clevo the left fan made high pitched buzzing sound.

It was replaced and worked for like a week before it broke completely.

I got it replaced and was told that they relaced both fans to be safe.

BUT now the one hat worked before makes a high pitched noise... the one on th right?

Thing is, my reseller is 8 tram stops away, i feel like an arse walking in their with that issue. But on the other hand I paid 1900 EUROS!!!

    Any suggestions?

If what K-TRON said in this post is correct, then replacing the fans won't help at all. It's not a mechanical noise, so it makes sense that replacing the fans wouldn't fix it. It's not the actual fans that are the problem.

Hey guys, my fans made a hizzing, buzzing sound, almost electronic sound.
I changed the fan and it was working for a week, but broke again.

Im fed up with the fans, as i already put up with the loud noise i didnt wanna put up with a electronical hizzig or buzzing. I can clearly say it was the fan, since i swapped the right with the left one and the noise changed sides as well.

I wanna stay with my reseller which is only 8 tram stops away but i dont wanna go there every weekk to change the fans.

So they said they will refund me...

I ask for a alternative, but theres only the 18 inchone coming in a month time, and the W860CU Revision will be out in about 2 months... Probably will have to wait till the or get the ASUS G73JH?

The New Revison of the W860CU Will support ATI 5x DirectX11!!!

    What do you think?

I hope they add another 4gb of ram aswell.

That's the thing that's making me go to the g73hj. That aditional ram will be well used when building lightmass, and paying more for half the ram and half the disk space is something which makes me itch.

Edit: That revision will come out at CeBit, probably.

Interesting. I was waiting to see what Clevo would have at CeBit, so this is good news.

Jumping here from the lounge. My W860CU GPU fan developed the same problem after a few weeks. I quess I'll have to get it fixed. I wonder if there are some alternative compatible fans from some other maker that would work.

Or it might be just a faulty batch, since I think both of us bought from Germany, right? Mine is from mySN.

I got confirmation that changing the fan myself will not break warranty. Does anyone know where I could easily buy suitable fans in case this one totally breaks down, and what kind should it be to be compatible?

You can buy the same fans from your reseller.

Problem is that my reseller is over a thousand kilometres away in another country, which is why I want to replace it myself instead of sending this to warranty. :)

Ah well. I'll ask them if they can send me one if the problem returns as bad as it was yesterday. Today the noise mostly vanished, but the fan obviously is still flawed.

gagis. we're in the same boat: I live in Sweden and my reseller is also mySN. There appears to exist a Swedish reseller, but they do not seem to have many parts. I also see that mySN has no offerings for parts, so I'm looking for other blowers.

I'll return to this thread when I find something. From what I've seen so far, the available blowers have a different fitting than the original blower. This is going to be an interesting customisation :)
