Well I was getting close to the end of my 30 days of satisfaction guarantee , so I decided to look over my 5760 for any flaws that I may have over looked. When I first opened my 5760 it had a plastic shield on the screen to stop the screen from getting damaged in transit. When I removed this shield I noticed a smudge on the screen and chalked it up to some kinda stick stuff that keeps the shield to the screen and I could clean it off later. Well , its not a smudge I can remove. Iv used lens cleaner on the screen to remove whatever it is, but it wont remove from the screen. When I run my fingers on the screen in the spot, I cant feel anything.. not gouge or scrape. I’m thinking this is on the INSIDE of the screen. You have to be sitting in the right light to see it, at an angle. Iv contacted discountlaptops to get a refund. I was told that when sager get the laptop back they will check it out for scratches and missing stuff. I’m worried they will say this smudge or whatever it is my fault. I think at that point if they say that, I will get discover card into the mix. I just hope it doesn’t come to that. I will keep peeps posted =)

DiscountLaptops is an excellent reseller. I've returned two laptops to them since 2002; one for exchange, one for refund. My refund was posted to my Visa within ten days. You shouldn't have any trouble getting a refund.

Matt at discountlaptops has been very good with me. Im just worried about that whole smudge thing with the screen. It didnt make the smudge it came that way, but Im sure sager has heard all that in the past from diffrent people abusing there notebooks and then wanting to return them before the 30 days are up. Like i said in my earlyer post, that the smudge is kinda hard to see, and you have to be looking for it, and it has to be in the right light. It has that super glossy screen so things like smudges are kinda hard to see so thats how i think it made it past them and sent to me the way it was. Iv documented pretty everything via email, so if push came to shove I Discovercard should go to bat for me. They are allready informed of me returning the laptop and what had been said earlyer by matt that basicly when sager gets the laptop and they find scratches n such they will deduct that from any refund... so , I told discover about that and made a note in my file if i had problems. When i purchased my notebook , i also purchased the Shipping insurance deal for 65 bucks that allows me to shipp the laptop back to sager 2nd day air and its covered .. Its good for a Entire year. I contacted Discountlaptops about returning the laptop on the Aug 9 2006, and got a shipping lable on the 10th, but only after I had gone to work... So UPS got the laptop today. Im in Ketchikan Alaska, and even though its second day air, It will take 3 -4 days to get there since Ketchikan is on a small island in alaska. So thats where we are today. I feel Matt at discountlaptops is really working with me to get this done, I think the only hold up will be Sager, and yea.. UPS.. lol

Yea, Or i could have gotten a laptop that had a tv tuner that worked WITH MCE, OR i could have gotten a laptop with out smudges/scratches. If i mail the laptop back for a exchange, I pay again for shipping... Did that once to get it too me... Im not taking a chance again that somthing else will be wrong. How many chances should sager get? They have blown 2 chances allready.. do i call it quits when im on my 5th, 6th chance? Sometimes you just have to call it quits. The laptop is a great laptop, dont get me wrong, but iv just got to cut my losses and wait untill somthing else, or buy a XPS...

Sager will exchange any laptop within 30 days of the original ship date. The customer pays the shipping, but you can exchange for the same model or a different model...no questions asked :)
