Anyone experienced 1-1.5seconds lag when right click on desktop? It's happening on me and not sure what is going on especially with this fast laptop with SSD. Is this caused by GPU?

Tried to disable all startup and services in msconfig to test it but still doing the same thing

ALso, how to optimise the SSD performance?

That lag is weird, could be an input lag, updating to the latest firmware could help. The Crucial M4 are great SSD's but its one drive that you want to make sure you're up to date on firmware.

To optimize SSD performance you dont need to do much. Just make sure your SATA connection type in the BIOS is set to ACHI, update to the latest firmware for the SSD, and I also like a program called SSD tweaker to limit read/writes to the drive.

Most likely an issue with shell extensions. I had that issue when I was using nVidia's nView (now phased-out for standard GTX card drivers).

Do you see more than two instances of explorer.exe in task manager when you have no windows explorers open? There is a bug windows 7 where explorer.exe processes tend to accumulate in the background. Shell extension issues seem to be further compounded by this bug.

Do you have the lag immediately upon a fresh reboot?

i can only see 1 explorer.exe in task manager and i'm using AMD GPU so I don't tink this is related to nView
