I'm using RivaTuner 2.05 with 169.04 -- everything seems to work fine. I can overclock nicely with 3DMark06 score at 10264.

I'm not sure what the new 2.06 version gets me so I opted to stick with 2.05 for now.

For me the overclock would never stick. It would always automatically go to defaults when I hit apply. I'm happy now!

Hey, what clocks can you reach? And temps?

I use atitool to test my oc´s and my 8700gt starts artifacting at 720gpu/960mem reaching 64c...so i have to stick with 710/950. I was using 169.04 on xp, but changed to 169.02 to see if it altered something, but i get the same results...

I´ve read somewhere on this forum that this card can easily reach 800/1000 without going over 60c...

Could that be driver related, or is it just bad luck with the card i´ve got?

My system is the same as yours but with Wuxga T7500 and 160gb 7200rpm.

Using Riva Tuner 2.06 and with the 169.04 drivers in XP, I am able to OC to 750/1000 with an average temp around 66c. It has reached 68c max. The best 3DMark06 score I was able to achieve was 6030. I may be able to reach higher if I terminate some unneeded programs prior to launching the the benchmark. I didn't get any artifacting at all with this temp. I tried cranking it up to 775/1000 and the artifacting started.

To get what I can achieve with get less than 60c would be crazy! Mine idles at 55-58c.

I'm at 756/1700/1000 for CPU/Shader/RAM. It runs at 58-64C with max fans in the 9261. I think I may be able to go higher with RAM (which is crazy since 1GHz is already insane). The CPU clock seems to be the most limiting. I know I cannot run CPU at 774.

Well, there is a member of this forum that reached 800/1000 and (i think) 1850 on the shaders, without going over 60c without any extra cooling...

Odly enough, i can set clocks on rivatuner to 760/1000 and run 3dmark06 without artifacting or freezing and my top temp is 61/62c; while scanning for artifacts in atitool, if i get past 720/950, it starts artifacting(or freezes the notebook) right off, reaching 64/65c...
