So, I've finally had to do an RMA for my 980m machine. The issues just got too much - wildly varying GPU utilization (yesterday Lords of the Fallen stayed within 90-99%, today it won't go above 60%, same area, same settings), the HDMI output being blurred on full-screen mode in some games and not in others, just too much headache for a $1800 machine.

Anyone here had to do an RMA with Sager before? They said it will take around 2 weeks, but, honestly, that's one heck of a long time to go without my main computer. I mean I have a work laptop but still, not ideal.

I'm just frustrated and lack patience at the moment. Don't think I have much choice - no idea if I can just return it to PowerNotebooks without them having checked for the various issues mentioned above. But what if they can't replicate them? I mean, I can barely replicate them on a day to day basis, but my word do they happen.

    Sure it's not a driver issue ?

I think with your issues you should RMA or return the notebook if you can... It's completely broken.. Talk with Meaker or someone from the Power Notebooks team and see what they can do for you.. With the problems you've had seems to be quite major...

With RMAs you would need to talk to the office rather than myself.

Appreciate you answering, thanks. I'll reach out and see what's up.

Yeah, if anyone has seen the myriad of threads outlining the issues I've had with this PC since I got it, it's becoming really noticeable that something is wrong. I'm starting to think it's the CPU but we shall see.

Guess I'll pack it up and send it out once the new year hits. The RMA postage they sent out was valid for 20 days and I'd rather not have the New Year's holiday eat into my return time. Hopefully I'll get it back before Dying Light comes out...

I hope it's something they can replicate and fix and not say... your SSDs or something weird like that. I know what it's like having to deal with odd issues nobody else has and being without your machine for ages >_<.

You and me both. Will send it out at the end of this week and hopefully have it back soon. In my ideal scenario, they fix it and I finally get the performance I wanted out of this machine. If not, I just want to send it back and buy a desktop. The latter, while better for performance, isn't as convenient for me due to constant travel but I'm sick of having to deal with issues that apparently no-one else has.
