Seems to coincide with when I upgraded to windows 10, though the problem persists after reverting to windows 8. Not sure if that's poor timing or what, I don't see how windows 10 could cause this issue.

Issue I'm having is when I power on the computer, it will repeatedly try to power on, then hard shutdown before it gets to POST. Aside from that, nothing's been changed, computer hasn't even been moved. Once it's up and running, it runs as it should with no signs of instability.

See below for a video. Any ideas?

Such an early issue can't be software based as it's not loaded yet. Seems like a weak solder joint somewhere or possibly a loose part, you could try re-seating things like the ram. Also check the cable is properly in on the brick.

Reset bios (and disable Secure Boot). Remember that 10 has access to UEFI from within the OS. A small step to auto-change settings upon OS install. And rightly so, of course; users can't be trusted  .
Well ... Clevos with desktop cpu just got a lot more interesting.

I've double checked ram is seated. Just for giggles I tries pulling all the sticks out and powering on. Keyboard illuminates and the machine eventually turns off (no display on screen), but doesn't make the noise as it does with a hard shutoff

And FWIW I can't even get it to go into the OS any more

LVDS, right? Try unplugging the lcd cable and boot with external monitor.

Just picked her up from UPS today. They found a bit of thermal paste had leaked out and was causing a short in one of the resistors surrounding the CPU. ..Probably from my (excessive) use of compressed air to clean the dust out on a weekly basis hah.

Just want to give a shoutout to their customer service... it's absolutely phenomenal. Prepaid label to send it in, updated me and fixed the issue next day, then back in the mail the day after. Didn't give me any grief about a different bios or heatsink mods. It's those little things that make a repeat customer, and they've got me for sure

You can post a review in the reseller feedback area as well. That will probably stay visible longer.

That's even more reason to post a good review there. As you've probably seen most go through resellers, so a review for buying directly from Sager would be helpful.

I would stick to cleaning out counting in months rather than weeks at least lol. Unless you live in a REALLY dusty environment.

Heatsinks can go longer... But I at least need to blow the keyboard out pretty often or it gets under the keys and nasty

With pets you'll want to clean it more often for sure. Good thing you realize that, we've seen some gnarly hairballs from pets.
