So I'm looking for a mid range PC with decent form factor and battery life, and when compared to similarly priced products by Samsung and Sony, this machine is miles ahead of both in terms of raw power. That said, my past experience with Sager notebooks makes me wonder how good the battery life is, and I can't find any reviews on this particular notebook or even an estimate of the battery life. Would anyone here who owns the notebook or a very similar notebook like to share his/her experiences with it? Thanks.

It says it's built off the Clevo W650SR. Here's the Xotic link: XOTIC PC | Sager NP6652 (Clevo W650SR)

We're not sure of any definitive benchmarks just yet. Perhaps others have conducted some testing for their own curiosity. Battery life should be a bit better though compared to last gen, given the new CPU and chipset.

Any idea what a last gen equivalent machine would have had for battery life?

While you guys are talking about this laptop, have there been any reviews on the keyboard? Or, is it maybe the same keyb as a previous gen?

Depends on the load, but heavy load I'd say 1.5 hours (give or take) if I recall correclty. It should have improved with Haswell on this gen.

They're not identical from what I've seen, but whatever your thoughts were on the last generation will probably be the same thoughts you'll have on the current keyboards.

Well, I have no thoughts on the previous gen because I don't know anyone that has one... and noone seems to care to review the keyboard on even the previous gen thoroughly! Perhaps these computers just aren't taken seriously enough to warrant that, idk.

We very seldom received any complaints on last generations' keyboards, and honestly the current ones feel very much the same in terms of tactile feedback, comfort, etc. Reviews for Clevos are not in as much supply I think largely due to the [lack of] market penetration/awareness of them.
