Came across the SAGER NP8130 with sandy bridge. I was wondering what the body of the laptop is constructed of. Plastic? Metal? Is the build quality good? If so, this seems like the perfect system.

    Why not reinforced titanium?

Really now, what would you expect it to be? It's high-quality plastic, sturdy and all. Nothing stellar but nothing to complain about it either.

Great! It was either this model or the W510 which has outstanding build quality. I just wanted to make sure it was built well because I will be taking it to college.

It'll be as good as or better than most laptops. I know that sounds like a generic statement, but ones I've dealt with have been pretty solid.

I have heard the 15'' will have a rubberised finish, if this is the case then I assume the 17'' will too.

Nope, 8130 = plastic casing, 8150 = rubberized finish, 8170 = metal casing (at least the lid).

8130 and 8150 are pretty much identical 15" machines except the 8130 has a smaller power supply and reduced cooling solution, hence an ~ $200 cheaper starting price. It will not accommodate the GTX 485m, but the 8150 will accommdate it just fine. 8130 has matte screen, 8150 has glossy. 8170 is the 17" version that can accomodate two HDD's / SSD's and an optical.
