Well, I am pretty sure that I want the NP8660. This is my configuartion, though I may just buy the Creative Labs Sound card from a store unless a reseller will match the price. Along with this notebook I am also getting other accories to play games.

    Here is my notebook setup:

Sager NP8660 (Built on Clevo M860TU)

    - Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound

    - 3 Year Labor* 1 Year Parts Warranty Lifetime 24/7 DOMESTIC Based Toll Free Tech Support
(Year2 & 3 Labor Warranty through Xotic PC)

I will be ordering this PC through Eurocom, however.

    ~ $2,362.00

The accessores I plan on buying along with this notebook:
    - Logitech G9 Laser Mouse 3200DPI USB2.0 1000HZ Weight Adjustable Black ~ $87.93

    - Steelseries 5H V2 USB Headset W/ Microphone & USB Sound Card (does this thing come with a built-in 7.1 sound card?) ~ $100.16

    - Zalman ZM-NC1000B Notebook Cooler Black Aluminum Dual Fan 1100-1500RPM ~ $56.29

    - Razer Lycosa Gaming Ultrapolling Keyboard Black USB Programmable Blue Backlight NON-SLIP Keys ~ $79.99

So what do you guys think about my laptop build, the accessories I am getting, and the sound card question?

    Thanks.

Very nice. I'm getting the same build as you, but with the P9500 and a 5400RPM hard drive. I figure I can buy accessories locally, if and when I need them, so I didn't order any.

I'm not sure you really need a dedicated sound card.

Anyway, let us know how effective the Zalman is on the NP8660. I've heard it wasn't effective on the NP579X because of the positioning of the fans, but we might have more luck on the 8660.

Hmm, I see. I guess I won't get the dedicated sound card. Do you reccomend any other notebook cooler?

Is there any need for a notebook cooler?

The only part that seems to heat up is the lower right hand side, where the hard drive is located. Since most people choose the 320GB 7200RPM hard drive, that seems to be the issue. In general, the notebook is quiet and cool. Which is a good thing. ;)

I recommend a cooler for any gaming notebook.

For this model, look towards a Cryo LX or Zalman NC1000/NC2000.

Are the fans of the 8660 positioned the same as the 5796?

The cooler i'm getting as a package from PCMW will apparantly be what they consider the most suitable one for the laptop. When I receive it, I'll let you guys know if it is and what brand it is.
