    Hey guys, kinda new here.

I came on this forum that someone would have an answer to my issue.

My SAGER NP9752 is booting up to a black screen. It started today when I was gaming and my battery died. Upon plugging it into the charger (immediately),I restarted the computer, to have it boot to a black screen.

I unfortunately, am away from home so I can't test an external display. However, I can remote desktop and see my screen. I've tried rebooting, going into BIOS (can't see anything), I've updated the GPU driver, tried uninstalling it (but it always freezes and never completes), done a system restore (which unfortunately only goes back a few days) but the issue persists.

The internal display just is not detected in the control panel either. However, the backlight is on, and thus, my screen isn't completely black but a bright grey.

Any ideas as to what may be causing this? Or any possible solutions? Thanks.

u can try and reseat your display cable, maybe it just got a little loose. u can access it via the keyboard, its right beneath it.

Okay, I'll try that. But sorry to be clueless. But would I pop up some keyboard keys and access it? Or do I go from the bottom and unscrew some things?

If I do it through the keyboard, do iIred to pop out every single key individually? Thanks

Yeah, I was just looking through that actually and saw how to remove the keyboard, but I didn't see any mention of the replacing or removing the display cable. I saw what looked like the cable in the parts list (in the bezel) but not sure if that's it or not.

yep, removing the bezel is not mentioned in the service manual. basically, i used a plastic card like a credit card for example, to get into the gap between display and bezel and carefully pop off the plastic retainers one by one. the most difficult part is removing the retainers in the display hinges, ull need some force to do that. but be careful not to break anything there.

if youre uncomfortable doing this urself, u can always contact your reseller / vendor where u got the machine from and ask them for advice / go for an RMA...

Yeah, I might not risk doing too risky things. I'm still in warranty but was trying to avoid sending it in since I also use this computer for programming and can't really wait 2 weeks without it. But I guess I'll have to.

But if this were the display cable, would the back light still work?

ive already had the opposite happen to my gf's laptop, where the display cable got a bit loose and only the backlight wasnt working properly, but it still showed the desktop. popped off the keyboard, reseated the cable and everything has been fine ever since :)
