I just got a Clevo M590KE off ebay and I'm having so much trouble trying to get SLI to work on it. Whenever I try to enable sli in the nVidia control panel, I get a blank screen for about 30 sec and then the almighty BSOD followed by that awesome reboot.

I have tried the the vga drivers off the clevo website and even modded drivers and they all end up the same.

I contacted sager and they said that it could be a video card failure and they want me to send it in for RMA. The problem with that is that I don't know if I can RMA since I'm not the original owner and if I send it in and they deny it, I will have wasted like 100-200$ shipping it there.

Then I contacted the seller on ebay. This is what he said.
So my fellow M590KE SLI users, is it true that SLI is enabled by default without having to enable it in the control panel?

Anyways I tried nHancer and even that program told me that it did not detect SLI on the computer. So now basically I'm screwed so I need some help.

Welcome to the NBR forums. :)

So the system does work on single card config?

Try and swap the two video modules, its not difficult, usually 4 screws for each videocard. Then try to see if the system is stable.

If it unstable or non-functional after the swap then one of the videocards is bad.

In any case, you do not have to be the original owner of the Sager notebook to get it RMA'ed.

    @ suntiger - XP Professional

@ Gophn - If I switch the video cards and somehow Sager finds out about it, can they use that as an excuse?

Well... if you ask me that question.

Then that means that you are not confident with your skills or are unsure of yourself.... then I would not recommend to do it then.

lol those seals are just stickers.

you can easily remove any sticker by using a heat gun or hair dryer, then it peels up like butter and becomes like new again when cooled down.

    Physics for stickers/adhesives:
heat + adhesive = butter (easy & clean removal) :)

Well I guess I'll just send it in because the only thing it could be is the card problem, I've tried everything else and posted on 7 forums but no solutions.

well when you do send it in..

make sure to include all of your tests and details of the issue(s)

this will make your RMA much quicker because the techs would not have to do redundant tests... although they will usually do because they dont trust a consumer's experience.... that happened to me when I was try to get a videocard swap with my Clevo (until they realized who I was, they didnt take my word for what the problem was).

Just to check, you did try drivers from LaptopVideo2go, right?

If so, I'd have to defer to Gophn and agree that it's probably a bad card. If not, try 'em, and if they don't work, then yeah, bad card.

M590K from ebay here, and one of the video cards just needed to be reseated. You might want to make sure the screws for the video cards are all tightly in place. By tightly I mean reasonably tight, as tight as you can turn it before having to exert energy to turn them further. Can't hurt to try checking if it's as simple as a loose screw. Worked over here. :)

Alright so I still had the same problems after tightening the screws. The good thing is that I actually had SLI enabled once, it told me to reboot, and it rebooted me to a BLANK SCREEN. Oh great...so since it said SLI was enabled once, does it mean that it's not a video card failure or could it still be?

you sorta got me scared here, i thought it would take weeks for my laptop to get fixed but then they sent me an email yesterday saying they got the laptop and today they sent me an email saying
"Your RMA:####### has been completed and shipped by UPS"

HOPEFULLY they fixed it, I dont want to have to ship it back again
