    On the SAGER NP5160 is there a bay for a 2nd drive (SSD)?

    you would have to take out the optical drive.

    Then how do I install windows 7 on it if it takes the optical drive?

    Anyone know if the optical drive slot is Sata II or III in the P150/P170?

    This would be the setup, stock hard drive in the hdd bay and SSD in the optical drive bay, what boot order i would need to change to install windows 7 on the ssd through an usb key?

    The optical drive is SATA II in both models.

    You'd make removable media first, or just load the boot menu at bootup and choose it from there to boot to the USB drive.

    Yup .. bootable USB key ... much easier and faster than using a disk. I am currently running my OS SSD in the hard drive caddy. Not the best solution, but my Corsair Force GT will not boot from the main drive slot. I'm incredibly disappointed in it, as I'm now gimped at SATA II speeds. Live and learn I guess, as now i'm stuck saving for an Intel drive.

    Are there any portable optical drive on the market?

    So I can replace the stock one with a SSD

    There are tons. And if you have an internal optical drive, you can save some money and just buy an external drive enclosure. That way you can still use the optical drive that came with your machine :)
