Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for an SSD to use for my OS and frequently-used programs? From what I've read so far, the HDD bay is SATA-III and the optical drive bay is SATA-II, so which should go where? I'm going to be getting the 750GB 7200rpm HDD option.

Are there any known incompatibilities with certain brands? I seem to recall reading something about an incompatibility, but for the life of me I can't recall where I read it

    Thanks in advance!

750GB 7200rpm, put that in the optical bay. For the HDD bay, get a Intel 510 or Crucial M4 or Kingston HyperX SataIII SSD2. All brands should fit.

Crucial or Intel seem to get the best reviews. I had to mess around with some intel drivers to maximize my Crucial ssd, but the thing is literally amazing now.

Also if you wait-- there are rumors of the Intel 520 coming down the line. If it uses a Intel controller like the past generation--- well it'll be hands down the SSD king!

I'm using a Intel 510 250gb SSD in my Lotus P150HM and it performs admirably. Had to rma 2 OCZ's so I can't recommend them until they fix the sandforce.

In our experience Intel's have been the best for performance/reliability. In addition if the unfortunate repair comes up Intel has the best RMA Department, hands down.
