    1) I placed my order on Friday and still have to make final payment on Monday, and I figure I would put this out there to see if anybody might have a better config to increase gaming performance without really increasing the price. Example, take the slower 250GB HD 5400 RPM and increase ram to 4GB.

    2) SPECIFICALLY, the processor and amount of ram I selected has me thinking. I upgraded the processor to make sure it would not become a limiting factor in gaming, but I figure that there is not an advantage to having 4gb of ram (with FPS in mind under XP). Does anybody know of any source of info comparing 2gb to 4gb of ram in newer games? I have searched for a couple of days and cannot find anything. Would the 25 Watt T9500 be a better option for the additional $35 or would it not make too much of a difference?

I am already about at the limits for my budget and I am leaving for Iraq very soon so I do not have time to wait for the 9800m gtx.

get 5K320 instead of 7K200, same performance more space.
2GB is enough for every games now, especially if you are running XP
You should get the P-series imo, 25W vs. T-series 35W. same performance.

Thanks, good suggestion. Any kind of benchmarks that could back it up?

I'd have to agree with what was said already... I placed my 5796 order a day before you did. I went for 4GB of memory but if I was to sacrifice anything major from my config, that would have been it. Easy enough to increase later. The 5K320 HDD will be plenty fast and it saves you $5 as well as giving you much more space. That's what I went for.

The NP5796 doesn't have the greatest battery life as it is from what I've read, I felt the P series processor was worth the tiny bit of extra money to get a little more battery life out of it.
