    Okay, so heres what happened.

I was just regularly playing on Steam (CS:GO) while into my second game, when all of the sudden.
I noticed my fan spin extra fast, faster than it normally does. I ignored it thinking it wasn't a big deal. Then out of the blue, it give me this blue screen with some writing on it. (It didn't give me enough time to read the message), It turns all black and displays

"reboot and select proper boot device"

When I would press enter, it would just display the same error message.
I hard-reseted it and it did the same thing, until the second time doing it it finally prompted me to my Desktop.

My assumption is that it over-heated from playing (first time) and it just went into shut-down mode. After a couple of re-boots it finally cooled down to a decent temperature.
(I should have waited ~5 minutes before trying to turn it on)
    Or
Maybe dust somehow caused the over-heating?

Anyone else have/had an issue similar to mine?
Will re-pasting my CPU/GPU to icy-diamond prove to be the answer?
Am I correct in my assumption?

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks!

    ALSO,

Anyone know where I would be able to purchase extra Back-Cover Screws?
    I lost one randomly :(

Yes it does sound like an overheating issue since it started back up after you let it cool down. However overheating shut downs do not typically get a BSOD first, it just shuts down.
Do you know what your CPU/GPU temps were hitting?
How long have you had the comptuer?
When was the last time you did clean out the vents and fans with a can of compressed air to remove any dust that has built up? Its good practice to do so every 6 months or so depending on your environment.

You will need to repaste.. Looks like a overheating problem 100%... You want to get some good IC Diamond/Gelid GC Extreme Thermal paste... Repaste both CPU+GPU... Remember with those 2 pastes, keep the tubes in a cup of warm water before applying as it helps to melt it and make it easier to apply..

    Thanks for the reply.
As for the CPU/GPU temperature, I am unsure. I wasn't running HWMonitor at the time I was playing
I've had my rig since September 2014
Last clean-up of the vents and fans yesterday after the incident. But before that probably around December.

    Thanks for the reply man.
As for re-pasting, This video by HTWingnut is pretty much how to do it right?

That is a good way to do it. But if the computer is from Sept 2014 the thermal compound may still be fine. I would run HWMonitor to check the temps. Since you cleaned out the vents/fans that could be all you needed to do. If you keep getting shut downs then repaste.

    Thanks!
Going to buy another Can of compressed air tonight and have HWMonitor running while gaming,
and do a thorough clean up of my rig and desk!
A dusty desk might have been the culprit..... *sigh*

Remember to repaste with great paste! I recommend Arctic Céramique 2 if you can't get IC Diamond or anything.

Gelid GC Extreme is always there.. Honestly, can't believe that I can get all these pastes except for IC Diamond easily here in the UK.. even CLU is easy to get but IC Diamond? It's almost impossible..

Are you using an ssd or hdd? If it's a HDD keep an eye on its temperature too.

    Using primarily using mSATA.
I found the culprit when i opened it up and found this dust ball right in between the fan. *sigh*
Goes to show you got to clean the computer once a month! 20150211_175404.jpg

Thanks for the help ya'll. Will be monitoring my temps from now on, to determine if re-pasting is needed
