Prema used to release them for the general public but a guy started to sell them as his own bios so Prema stopped sharing them with the public and you can only get one if you buy from one of his partners right now.

Have you taken advantage of the stock firmware? What CPU have you got?

What do you mean by 'unlocked'?

    I do use Prema BIOS V 1.02.17

Can be found here Clevo Bios older models (released in/after 2012) | NotebookReview

I do have a 'not OC able CPU' tho, surely will buy an unlocked later on for me Clevo P150, my i7 3630 bottleneck the 1060 6gb like mad, my GPU is often at 50-60% usage while cpu 99-100%.

Getting a 3740qm would be a nice step up.

I agree, but an i7 3940xm would pair better with my 1060 6gb. But with the taxes its at 200usd price range.

45w to 55w does not seem to be big of a deal.

    Sorry OP for the ninja.

The XM can be quite power hungry chips binning wise.

PS: I game with the bottom cover off and on a laptop cooler, help some with the temps.

I found that the 3740 or 3840 could max out most setups fine thermally and hit a nice balance. But if you get it cheap then hey it is unlocked.
