    FYI

    1. For systems ordered with Windows Vista OS, Sager currently estimates a ship date of Jan. 31st, 2007
    2. Sager currently does not plan on carrying Windows Vista Home Basic Edition because we believe that the minimal price difference ($20) does not justify losing the features of the Premium edition.
    3. Sager systems will default ship with the 64bit version of Windows Vista. Most current software applications and hardware devices will work fine under the 64bit edition. In the event a customer has older incompatible applications and hardware devices, Sager will include both 32bit and 64bit recovery media so the customer can switch to 32bit if necessary
    4. Currently the manufactures of the Video Camera and TV-Tuner does not have stable build drivers and applications available for Windows Vista, but they have ETA of the end of February. Sager will be including a attachment notice in each system shipped with or without Vista OS order explain the issue and the URL to download the drivers and applications once they are available.

    SLI limitation & 4GB (4096MB) memory availability
Currently neither the nVIDIA SLi or the ATi CrossFire are functioning under Windows VISTA. This is because Microsoft has changed the Display Driver API and this is outside of control of Sager. It is up to nVIDIA to solve the issue with Microsoft, and we have not been given any ETA regarding this.
4GB total available memory will be an available option for Sager NP5960 with the 64bit edition of Windows Vista.

Thanks for the wealth of information Justin. I'm happy to see the Sager is not selling Vista Basic; it has been deprived of a lot of features and is not worth buying anyway in my opinion.
