I just spoke with a Sager sales manager asking him if they were planning on coming out with a 15" with the 8800 GTX in it. He said he did not know 'WHEN' it would come out... he definitely put the emphasis on 'when' whereas he could easily have used 'if.' ;)

I got the feeling it was intentional on his part. Maybe I'm just grasping at straws but I wouldn't be suprised as alot of people, including myself, wouldn't mind paying premium for a smaller Sager [<17] that could hold up in the gaming arena.

    Thoughts...?

Wonder how hot it'd be considering the NP5793 isn't any less loud and hot... which it isn't much, but still!

if they're to show one, it's probably on CeBit... so maybe it's a matter of days till introduction, then a month or two till production :D

Just because I'll be taking it to class every day... so the smaller footprint and stuff would be nice.

If I can get close to the 17"'s gaming capabilities in a 15" without running too hot or too noisy [I know, I know, I ask for everything!!!] then I'd pull the trigger on it even if it was a little more expensive.

15" is more portable, but also more problematic when it comes to heat. It's not such a wise choice to have a 8800M GTX in a 15" laptop. Alienware might have done it, but the temps are higher than in any other gaming laptop (for the video card) made by Clevo, for instance.

The m15x can run 4-5 hours on battery power using integrated graphics (8800GTX disabled) with the smartbay battery installed. No gaming, but great for lugging around from class to class if you had to. Maybe 2 hours tops for gaming on battery but since you lose the CD player to the smartbay battery I doubt you'd want to play on battery.

There's a lot of issues that plaugue the m15x right now with overheating while gaming on the top of that list. I highly doubt Alienware can fix this as heat becomes more of an issue over time. While it looks good right now, it's going to stand out as a lemon as more time goes by and more customers complain about it.

Here we go with more assumptions.
We still do not know anything about how the M860TU will perform, mainly against the m15x , so give it a rest for now people...
